Looking forward to that. I've been curious about this one since they came out. There is virtually no info on it anywhere..
I would be delighted if the internal membrane was c-change. I have had two Comfortshell suits and they worked wonderfully. -jeff
Agree with effectiveness of the c-change membrane. I've worn a Comfortshell suit for the last several years as a year-round suit. Very happy with it's temperature flexibility. Never got wet in extended rain 3 hours and. The only reason I'm looking at getting a new suit is I've lost some weight and the EnduroGuard looks like a promising upgrade to the comfortshell.
H-Jay - I've gained some weight. What size are you looking for? I have a 54 looking for a 56 jacket. -jeff
I have a pair of Halvarssons pants (C-Change laminate) that need a couple of seems repaired, I wonder would these guys be willing to repair them? They obviously have the experience and ability to work with the schoeller textile. Sent from a OnePlusX
I think repairing textile is harder than repairing leather, but you should definitely try contacting them.
Yeah, I've just sent them an email. Used Hill4 Leather before and although they done a great job on the actual repair........ they weren't great on the logistical side of it. (Ireland to the UK and back) Sent from a OnePlusX
Idk, if it's the c-change membrane or they all do that, but though my streetguard never leaked, if I ride in heavy rain the inside is always damp the next day.
I have ridden all day in storm conditions in a jacket with laminated C-Change membrane (Halvarssons Odyssey) and stayed completely dry. I would be very happy if the new Enduro suit had the same membrane. Dynatec from schoeller also feels very robust. Sent from a OnePlusX
From what I have heard, and having a Richa shop nearby (a brand that has used C-change since the beginning) is that it breathes well, better than gtx, but as previously mentioned that is always a bit hard to "measure". But the durability has some serious issues. And that can be measured Imo breathability should come from vents. Something Richa didn't use in the beginning because c-change was o so breathable, seems that has changed because their new higher end suits have vents... Main issue and reason why I went for a rev'it gore-tex suit (huge rev'it retailer also close by xD) is that gore-tex offers a lifetime warranty and from my experience they have held up to their promise (also rev'it itself sometimes has some quality issues but never made an issue of exchanging). 3-4 year old gear that started leaking without tears was replaced without a problem. The Richa C-change stuff has a 2 year warranty and some noted durabilty issues were they even didn't exchange a suit within the 2 year warranty (dutch forum topic I found when researching a couple years back on Richa). Their claim was that the rider shouldn't have ridden in salt and that exhaust fumes deteriorate the membrane. Well that's useful... With it being in the same price range I still opt for gore-tex. Exact same reason that I use gore-tex for my outdoorgear and not eVent or Neoshell. All that being said, a nice suit, but BMW is not that well known for being helpful with warranty issues either. If they didn't use gore-tex proshell prices this would have been a nice option.
How about the claim that c-change supposedly acts like pine cones, opening and closing to regulate temperature? I stopped believing in magic and Santa Claus long ago! Has anyone noticed any difference in breathability between c-change and other membranes?
Yes, I found the c-change material to live up to its breath ability claims but, as I said, with time not waterproof.
I agree on the breathability. Very good! But I have not had any leakage problems as you report. -jeff
Jeff, Thanks for the offer. I'm thinking of moving on to the EnduroGuard once I get a look at it. I'll likely put my Comfortshell up on the Marketplace. BTW its a 56 jacket and 110 pants. Interesting that the pine cone marketing analogy isn't being used with the new EnduroGuard despite the fact that the "membrane" appears to be the same material used in the Comfortshell.
There is this other video on youtube, too: Not sure what language it is - probably Russian? I haven't understood a word, but it does give a better view of the jacket, especially of the vents.
Seen the Enduro Guard suit at the UK bike show last week, it's a fine looking, sturdy bit of kit. I think it was priced around £1600stg for the suit, if I recall correctly. Sent from a OnePlusX
Did you try it on? How heavy did it feel? I wonder what temperatures it can be used in. I appreciate a true 4-season jacket does not exist, but another inmate is using a Klim Apex in Thailand because of the waterproofness, the light weight and the vents - I wonder if this could compete with the Apex in these regards.
Couldn't try it on, it seemed quite sturdy. Seemed to be vented well. I also got to see another brand that we don't have in Ireland.......... Dane.......... very impressed. Sent from a OnePlusX
