On our way down to the valley floor, we ran into a fellow ADV rider on GS 1200, and shared a few route ideas. Safe Travels Again!!

We did have reroute at the end of the day - darn locked gates, out in the middle of no where! 245 Miles today of awesome desert scape.

Would it be possible for you to publish your route? I'm wondering where that locked gate was?

We started today at the Bisbee Breakfast Club early, planning for a long day of desert exploration. This place has lots of cool Harley Davidsons, and classic cars, next the the Bisbee Mine.

    image0.jpeg

We headed out on Lonesome High Trail, and warmed up quickly with the washes and rocks.

    image1.jpeg

Then on towards the 745 trail - a nice low hill run along the Dragoon Mtns. The photo shows the team is looking towards the hills ahead....

    Mike leading the way... again!

    image7.jpeg

This section of 745 Trail - was a flowing two track that made us all smile. After we finished, we re-told each other how much we enjoyed this 10-15 miles of rolling fun :1drink:1drink:1drink

We then headed towards Tombstone, up and over the King Pass. Mike S. on his 690 - smooth.

    image3.jpeg

We ran into several ADV riders headed the opposite direction, but the run up the pass was ADV heaven.

A key team member was unable to ride with us on this route. Eric's torn up and surgically repaired body wouldn't allow him to roll with us in AZ. so instead he drove and managed the support truck and trailer for this entire ride!

    38.jpg

Thank you Sir for having the beer cold and all logistics coordinated!

We will roll again soon :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Ah, I was wondering how you guys were traveling so light all those days on the ride. Man, a friend like that is something pretty special.

PittsDriver - this group takes care of each other with mechanical issues, taking turns opening gates, and occasionally telling each other where to go!!

The route West took us over Montezuma Pass and towards Nogales. We rolled on smooth AZ dirt, and cracked the throttles often.

Moving west from Nogales after lunch started with severe washboard - but soon turned into a ripping two track.

Late in the day we managed to find a seriously deep sand wash - that proved to be a handful. This section tested everyone, but was a challenge we all were glad to run across.

Sitting back, 2nd gear and high RPM’s seemed to help!

The temps climbed to about 90 degrees today - and these riders were glad to grab a cold drink at the end of the trail.

The maps have been a huge help on rerouting. When off of the AZBDR tracks - we have had quite a few locked gates in our way.

Wow, 100 miles a day! How are the 890's hanging with the lighter bikes?

docwyte - The 890’s are pretty darn special machines! The two lucky 890 Rally R riders also have several decades of high level riding experience. So that combination means these guys go anywhere with ease!

Our group often see’s smaller ADV bikes on the trail - and larger ADV bikes on the asphalt. But everyone we see is having a good time!

Missed your thread initially @Catastrophic Failure, but glad I just caught up on the 2 pages thus far! Killer ride man, what a great way to spend some time during what's usually dark, cold, and wet weather up here in the PNW.

Fantastic scenery shots of the ground you've covered thus far, awesome to have the bikes waiting for you ready to go and have a chase truck helping travel light.

Look forward to more; Bisbee AZ looks like a damn cool town. I follow a guy on YT (Sterling Noren who's done stuff for the BDR guys and lots more) who talks about his hometown of Bisbee; sounds like a great place.

Knobby side down if you guys are still out there ripping it up!

pitbull, Posting and reporting nightly from the trail is not ideal, and i know my reports lack detail, but thank you for the comments.

liv2day, glad you enjoyed the simple report! Honestly i aim to do a more thorough job of detailing the trip events, but i seem to run out of steam after high mile days, and a cold drink recovery session.

Plus many times i just miss an opportunity to capture a photo. Slow on the trigger finger... just a dust trail.
