Thanks again. Lunch is on me this week. No arguments or :mulie or:2guns

The ride in "full conditions" was modestly epic. As was your drive home, I assume. :ear

Strega, Thanks for the tip. I learned quite a bit about the mine from that site. I knew that the guy's name was Howard, but I didn't know the last name was Hill, which is probably why it's Opal Hil Mine. I'd thought it was the name of that particular hill.

    Thanks again, TOM

I think Zen Slug got some photos in and around the Opal Hill Mine.
    Can't wait to see'em!

Was a pleasure meeting you Tom, hopefully we can catch up again on some future rides. I remembered you saying that guy's name was Howard so it was neat to see it on that site.

I grabbed as many pics as I could and made a little gallery that you can find HERE.

Credits for all the pics are on the first pic in the gallery.

Do you guys run north from camp up Gas Line Road thru the bombing range? If so, have you ever been hassled by the military (straffing)?

We stay on the West side of the canal until the head of the Bradshaw Trail, where we cross over.
I think I know the route you are referring to, which would be a more direct route on the East side of the canal. I've seen lots of tire tracks over there, so it seems plenty of people do it without getting in trouble.

Any day trips being planned in the SoCal low desert area before it gets too hot? I'm from the Riverside, Ca area and ride a XR650R set up for desert riding. Do a lot of riding in the Bradshaw area, as well as Superstition or wherever.

Headed to Superstition on March 7-9, we'll be about 4.5 miles down Wheeler on the South side of the road. I believe there's a race on the north side on pole line on Sunday.
