Well, I have re-jetted my '03 640 ADV in line with Flanny's recommendations (thanks Flanny). Given a handful of throttle she flies like the wind. But the bad news is that it is crap at small throttle openings, I tried full throttle everywhere, but its just too dangerous!!

So I reckon I need to fettle the idle mixture (currently 2½ turns out)... BUT what a bitch it is to get to that screw. Today I found a Motion Pro FCR kit that I thought would help http://www.motionpro.com/Docs/convtools_2.html but it is a bit too long (especially if you have an electric start).

So today I took the carb (partially of just to adjust that 'king screw.

I want a tool that works, I have seen Creepers tool but I don't really want to pay $110!

So what works (well)? Has anyone tried the Sommer ones? http://www.ktm-sommer.de/Seiten_05/f_zubehoer_05.html

    Any other suggestions?

No pics, sorry, but it ain't pretty :lol3

I took a cheap tiny screw driver and cut the blade off so the blade section cut off was about 1" long. I then cut a section of the plastic handle off the top of the screw driver about 1" long. I then heated the 1" blade section until red hot and inserted it into the 1" plastic handle section.

Result. I have a screw driver that fits the mixture screw and it is just over 1 inch long and it fits in the stock KTM took kit. :freaky

If you think the BST mixture screw is hard to get at, you oughta take a look at how bleak the situation gets when you're wrassling with an FCR on an older LC4 with the microfilter behind the cylinder. WTF were they thinking? :bluduh

I did the Creeper thing and made a shorty scroooo-driver for the BST equipped bike.
