    Not a good sign.

    Let's discuss this.

Retreat to the valley, to try again another day. Watch out for fallen rocks.

Marshall Pass Rd again. Defeated; heading back down. Short of the pass about 2.4 miles.

    A lone rider heading up.
She didn't stop to say how far she went as she rode back down the road past us.
It was further than us wimps.....
This was the only time I saw her pushing the bike.

How about Otto Mears Toll Rd? Snow blocked at 1.2 miles heading up from the north end at Silver Cr.
Around the corner, it got deeper...

    Heading back down.

Nine days ago, I drove Hwy 114 west of Saguache to check out North Pass conditions and found massive snow on all the nearby peaks and ridges. When I returned yesterday (Sat 6/8) there was no snow to speak of anywhere! So I parked and unloaded, then rode into Lujan Pass and the west end of the Summit Tr (aka Cont Divide Tr) to check for downfall, and possibly clear a few while I was in the neighborhood.[IMG]

The ground was soft and water soaked, and I judged it too wet to ride the trail; the snow had just melted in the last few days. I did walk in a few hundred feet.... I'll try again in a few days.

Rick...do you have coordinates for the actual summit of Lujan Pass? I tried to find it via maps and couldn't.

    Thanks Rick!

From what you are saying, Lujan Pass is the same as Peon Pass? I've ridden over Peon Pass on County Rd. 31CC before but I thought Lujan Pass was on one of the single tracks in the area...no? Sorry to sidetrack your thread... :D

A riding friend and his wife rode up Green Cr Tr on their electric bikes, and cut out several trees.

"We had a good ride. Only cut 2 trees & moved a couple. Still 2 or 3 to cut in the 1st 3 mi. It's slow going with the hand saw. 3.2 miles up there's a big avalanche blow down. About 200 ft wide, lots of trees broken over the trail, mostly small aspen.

Here's the avalanche debris, but you can't really see it well in the pic. It's pretty impressive. It's on the opposite side of the creek from the slide."

    Thank you Brad and wife.
