I am a US citizen and want to buy a motorcycle in SA. I would like to title, register and tag the bike in the US but never bring the bike to US. Has anyone gone through this and done it? Any advice would be appreciated.

There's a website/forum called Wilddogs that might help.

No, not really. I decided to fly my bike down on Air Canada and ride to Uruguay where I will store it. Ride again when I return and ship out of BA. Probably less expensive than riding down through Central America, which I've done twice.

    Thanks.
I'm planning on flying in to RSA in December this year . Riding around as much of Africa as possible . Theoretically would like to endup in Cairo and Europe .
Searching through the bikes for sale in RSA on gumtree I see a few likely candidates .
All KTM 990 Adventures , which I know very well . One in particular I'd buy now but it's to tricky to do the transaction and store
    until next Dec.

If you ask nicely, I am sure we can make a plan, Max.
There are various options on long term storage available.

BTW - what is your highlevel travel plans ?
Fly into Capetown or Jo'Burg ?
