I recall years ago watching a Bathurst 1000 race. A car retired with alternator failure. When the interviewer pushed the point with the pit crew manager, the alternator had failed because a connecting rod had gone through the block and damaged it.

that reminds me of the time I found out my wife could maintain speed and track with one hand while viciously elbowing me in the shoulder.

Troy Bayliss had a similar incident at PI with his V8 Supercar on the warm up lap when his car broke a fan belt. The crankshaft broke free and migrated forward and out of the block which broke the fan belt! That was the end of a $250,000 engine.

A mate's wife sent him a text that said, "Your great".

So, naturally, he wrote back, "No, you're great".

For days she's been walking around all happy and smiling.

He's wondering if he should tell her he was just correcting her grammar or leave it?

I heard a similar story about Honda at Bathurst during the Castrol 6 Hour. Honda engines were so reliable they never fail.

When the engine let go at the end of Conrod Straight smashing the crankcase to bits, it blew the alternator off the end of the crank. This particular bike retired due to “electrical failure”, officially.

My nephew graduated from college with an art degree. I went to see his senior project. This is better than anything he did plus, with a little marinara sauce, it's functional.
