I land at LAX late on the 26th and we are supposed to pick up the bikes on the 27th. I say supposed to because they currently aren't opened on Saturdays.

If the pickup goes as planned, we are going to ride past the Hollywood sign, stick our feet in the Pacific, and then head up to the mountains for the first night of camping. Hopefully the sites are opened.

Stereotypical pre-trip photos. My girlfriend has been making fun of me for them, but I justify them as a record for what I'm bringing so I'll know if anything gets lost.

This is what I'm taking, minus clothes, and my tool kit. James and I have mostly split up duty of what we'll be carrying tool wise to limit the excess weight, but it is still, by far, the heaviest thing I have. I was able to cut 15# from my initial weight by substituting lighter gear for my old stuff. What this really means is I had to spend more money to buy lighter stuff, but it's all higher quality than the old stuff, so I'm mostly okay with it.

    The kettlebells aren't going.

I just found out about the Tirox spiral chain brush and I'm interested to see how it compares to the old muck brushes I'm used to. It packs real small and doesn't weigh a whole lot.

California is moving back towards lock down, so the first 2 days there are going to be real interesting. Plenty of masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer are packed.

On one of our first trips the second day we packed a big box full of stuff home! You'll find out what you need real quick. New O ring chains just need a wipe with an oil soaked rag....constant attention and periodic adjustment.

James is in the air currently and my flight boards in 5 hours. We are supposed to meet Wade at CSC around 7 am tomorrow morning to pick up the bikes.
