I thought he were doomed, going from the crash investigation crew there. Didn't feel well seeing the helmet/clothes/bike debris. Hope he pulls through without major complications.

Timely reminder to take it easy with all the traffic on the road, more so with the general behaviour ect...

All the best chaps, may it be safe and festive season.

just watched the news and he (allegedly) ran up the back of the vehicle in front, also hit a speed sign. I believe there are two other vehicles with the MC involved.

Anybody have a recent road condition report for the cape? At least as far as Coen or Musgrave.
    Thanks

G'Day All, Just a quick check to see if anyone around Cairns has a workshop manual for a KLX400/DRZ400, trying to replace the u/s speedo with a Trailtech Vapor and after the wiring diagrams. Thanks

Left hand sidebar click on "manual", wants to download a zip file. I assume it's safe, but I'm not the one downloading it onto my laptop. Make sure you've got good protection. :D

Planning a ride down to SEQ in July. At this stage I'm good till White Mountain NP. What is the most fun route betwèen White Mountain NP and Emerald? We are on some what loaded (the essentials but not excessive) adventure bikes but good for a bit technical trail too. Cheers.

Haha...That look that Hey Ewe (Phil) gave me when I pulled up in the work ute to say g'day - he didn't recognise me out of my biking clobber.

First thing I thought about when I saw they were opening the gates to release '2000 cubic metres per second' over the spillway of the Ross River dam and the water thundering down the Barron River gorge-fish are dying down south, crops can't be planted, farmers are going broke and all this water is just going out to sea.

Saw footage of an old feller at Maxwellton getting rescued by helicopter & the aerial shot of water as far as you could see. Wasn't like that in July!! Is there a river nearby or was that all surface water?
Yep; we get an arvo thunderstorm that drops anywhere between 10-20mm & the most likely result is a lightning strike starting a fire. You would of loved flying into Canberra on Tuesday; westerly gusts ( crosswind ) up to 80kmh causing some pretty interesting landing conditions!!

The Flinders River is just to the north of Maxwellton and as you saw the whole place is as flat as a billiard table so that when the river broke its banks the water covered a vast area.
Certainly glad I'm nowhere near that black soil track we followed down to Kynuna right now, it was tough enough in the dry!
And yep, a strong, gusty crosswind will definitely make you 'earn your pay'.

I domt know if we know how lucky we are in Cairns, or outside the big cities. Am in the UK for a week.
Waiting to leave and get back home.
Maybe its a state of mind, maybe if i came here for a holiday it might be different.
Somebody breath in some sunshine for me please
