Too late in the year now, too hot for me probably.
I could possibly be but not until August next year, don’t ask me why.
You call yourself tornillo, screw in Spanish? :lol3

Today was my first time driving since the “incident” can’t walk on it yet though.

I consider July August the best time, but avoid school holidays (to crowded ) Where are you riding from?

That is perfecto, I can practice my Spanish, don’t get to speak it too often anymore.
Neighbour of mine might sign up as well since he missed this years expedition.
    T700 hey, great choice!
I’ll be in Melbourne in the next few weeks, should we catch up?

Its a bit of a balancing act to head up after the road has been repaired after the wet but before all the 4WD's get released from suburbia as well .Early July should beat most before the road gets carved up from traffic & end of July school holidays

Looks like I'm heading up the cape after the Off Centre Rally, 2nd weekend in August, at Adels Grove... Wonder if the Dunbar crossing of the Mitchael river ever got repaired.

I bought a DRZ400 in Mareeba and rode it back to Weipa. Leaving at 11 a.m, I was rocking in at about 8 p.m. Best headlights on a dirtbike ever. By the time I had reached the Archer river the motor had freed up a lot. It went downhill from there and I sold it 10 months later.

Bugger, I've got a picture of my ankle that looks just like that, and I got a photo of an inmate with a similar problem tonight. You weren't on a DR were you?

It certainly has been a long time mate. I'll have to look you up next time I'm up that way. Hope you're enjoying the tropics.

Surgeon said that it is a textbook ankle fracture, apparently there are 4 or 5 similar operations performed in Hobart every week. That is exactly what I wanted to hear.
Google ankle fractures and you'll see.
    I was on a KTM 690.

Hey Tornillo, I’m in Cairns for work been here for a couple of months. Would be keen on a few extended day rides north. Plenty up there to explore. It’s getting warm but I want to get some riding in before it rains and the whole place turns to custard.
