I doubt that. You are afterall stopped in the Kananaskis area.

Just don't stop for a look at the view or a picture. Stop for a leak and you need the pass. I'll get one to avoid the aggravation, plus I'll buy the camp crown pass. That's only 4 less bottles of whisky that I'll buy during the season. The money has to come from somewhere.
Thank goodness they cut the fee for cutting down your own Christmas tree. Oh wait you will need the $90 pass to go do that.

Hey if the money goes into ensuring the area won't be raped and pillaged by the knuckle draggers and cleaned up when it is, I'll do my part. Just another pay to play tax.

I wonder why the pass isn't a province wide provincial park pass. Surely K country can't be the only place that is being stressed.

I wonder if it will “grow” into this? I would be sad if this actually causes more people out in Waiparous, and North. It almost seems like a foregone conclusion that it will.

    Our group resinds bill 64...

Thats what registration is supposed to cover...
They rake in $10 million per year from OHV's and another $5 million and $20 million from logging and oil patch...

Leave us alone and go after the camp site pigs...

The goverment of Alberta has raked in $200 ++ million dollars over the last 30 + years and gave the trail network 1.5 too 2% back...

The rest of it went into general revenue and too their pension plans and friends...

They just gave Fortus $50 million and Sobys got $50 ...

These are companies that show record profits every year...

Don't be fooled,,, its another money grab,,, the costs will double next year,,, they will table the off road permit this year...

I'm /// we're not buying in on this...

Jason Nixon and Jason Kenny should know better then this,,, the folk up North put up a big bill board at GP...

    20210420_075518.jpg

    Bunch of Clowns...

Take take take and never give back...

And registration fees will go up next year too...

    Hopefully I'm wrong...

Rumour has it they are going to use the ParkPlus system that Calgary uses. ie. Camera scan of plate and automatic generation of ticket if not registered.

I wonder how it's going to work, with the yearly pass, if you have more than one vehicle?

You register the plate to the pass. You can register 2 plates per pass.

That's what I'm saying. I have a choice of three 4-wheeled vehicles, depending on what we are doing. Also, there is a choice of 4 bikes, at the moment. At least the Parks pass isn't tied to the vehicle.

This is the issue that I have with this system. We could potentially be using any combination of six different vehicles for just two people. To register all of them I will have to spend $270. Cheaper to take a chance on a fine it seems.

Wondering the same thing. I read they will include two vehicles and a trailer under one pass so that's $90 for that configuration. Do two motorcycles fall under same criteria as two regular vehicles? That's another $90. That leaves the third motorcycle, that's another $90. So to cover off my vehicles that definitely stop in Kananaskis that's $270 like MCMXCIVRS says. How about looking after the area properly in the first place instead of using funds meant to upkeep it and diverting those dollars elsewhere into general revenue? I also think people who don't want to pay the fee or can't, will simply divert to other areas and among those will be the crowd that believes the "great outdoors" is just code for "great outhouse".

Hope you don't get saddled with a system like for Manitoba provincial park passes where the website is in Texas! Lots of Manitobans now go without passes as you used to be able to buy a pass at a local business which got $1 commission for the sale.......now it's "on line only" and the hosts in Texas get $4/transaction.

I always think that examples like this are how politicians pay each other off. My 2 cents.

According to them too many non residents using the area is the problem...present multiple Alberta residence papers $5.00 others $90.00, that’s the answer...

I guess we’re going to need two passes maybe three

yet we never have more than one vehicle in K Country at any one time

    nothing like getting over taxed

and how much will go into general revenue

I generally ignore these tax grabs. Unless they put a tollbooth at a park entrance, I just ride on through. Sucks for the hikers and mtn bikers though who have no choice but to park and risk getting ticketed.
Sounds like the muppets in Edmonton need to be reminded of who owns this land and who works for whom.

If they keep acting like ass-hats, we’ll see Notley back in there. Then the Y-to-Y misfits will start campaigning to shut everything down. Sigh
