no....that was a bad camera angle, here's a better one...no need to dual sport a goldwing.
mike looking like a pro coming down the hill
pukawai and ewilde
emmi loves to catch air
Those are some great Pics. Kind of interesting to see the variety of bikes on this ride. Some loaded down, some small dirt bikes, some big ADV bikes... That one weirdo on a italian princess with no gear
Yea i was! ...I was wearing my boots! Just dont fall, right? LOL
Anyone find a skid plate near Hungry Valley yesterday?
don't know anyone but someone may if you post the same question here....https://advrider.com/f/threads/l-a-adventure-rides.318376/page-1871
hopefully someone did.
Thanks Joel for squeezing that 16:9 photo down to a 4:3 to make me look better.
Thanks Joel for once again taking and posting lots of great pictures.
Yeah Great Pics, Thanks for a great (chilly) time!
Also for that lift when I was gravel napping!
Mike. Couple more for chiming in...haha
Now I'm jealous.
Looks like I missed out on a great weekend.
just trying to make mike b. feels good since his next picture is not looking good....
there are more good stuff coming...
greg finally got the chance to be the ride leader
mike's bike true color is now showing
it was dusty...brian and i have to suck em up
the sand monster likes big bikes with road biased dual sport tires....it took 3 of us to get mike unpinned
And the other wannabe racer guy with the rally fairing. He’s not fooling anyone, he couldn’t even find the trailhead...
"the sand monster likes big bikes with road biased dual sport tires....it took 3 of us to get mike unpinned "
Thank you all for the lift!
Hiking Boots, I Was Lucky. No InReach SOS needed.
Boots Noted (Strongly) by Joel.
Great Weekend Anyway, I need my mineral supplement!
As I recall correctly there is a mirror image of another sand monster victim to the right in that shot. It almost swallowed a Suzuki stopping so it's rider could render help. I do admit having both bikes flopped over 5' apart made rescue more convenient. As far as crashes go I took to podium that day. Washing out after that rock has scared my bush pig for life to the point from now on it's getting treated like a cheap whore.
Joel, great pics I saved them on my HD thanks for taking the time and documenting our journey. I wanna go up their again but something tells me Emmi will want to pitch tents in 2' of snow and use me as cougar bait since he can ride faster than me.
LAT on attack mode
everyone made it to PT
got a long table big enough for all of us
the ride back was pretty uneventful. 3 riders had enough punishments they decided to take the pavement and 1 bailed out to get home. meantime, the 3 fast riders went rogue and the group just fell apart.
pukawai and i trading lead position.....
brian caught up who did an errand in yucca
brian gets a bonus picture for staying with me
before we hit the pavement, the rogue riders decided to go back to camp, while pukawai, brian and i want to explore the north side of big bear lake and ride the portion of skyline that we skipped on the way out. we gained elevation after a rocky hill climb and greeted by this view.
took vandusen road towards the lake. pukawai peeled off which leaves brian and i to complete the planned route.
it was getting cold and we hurriedly fired up the grill. mike was up to the task.
emmi too has talent
after dinner, i went to bed while the rest enjoyed emmi's artificial camp fire. it was cold that evening and in the morning i have to take a picture of this
no picture of the 1190 and the painful process to get it running. on my way out, glad i have the tracks on the voyager pro, which got me out of the forest
the 4 of us stopped at Azteca's for brunch and said hello to Rosa. we've been coming to this mex restaurant since 2009
on the way down, i saw 2 squids as they passed me
it was an awesome weekend to get out and enjoy big bear and pioneer town. great riding with a good bunch of guys.
till next the next one....
Thanks so much for taking pictures all weekend Joel. You da man.
