Sold the 450L last week. Great bike but 3 bikes is one too many for me. I’m trying to get down to one bike and that is hard. Still have the DRZ400S and the GS Rallye. Love both bike for different reasons.

Rode the GS yesterday and the DRZ today.

Great riding in the mountains near Reedley only 30-60 minutes from my house.

Bouquet Lake in the distance seems to have the needed water
    [IMG]\\

other than a few puddles of water, the ground was perfect

sorry no food pics, i forgot since i was enjoying the conversation with Richard (thanks for the lunch) and the tri-tip sandwich at the same time.

then came a big group of dirt bikers about 9 of them. they sat at the next table and i could not help notice they were all clean. i asked Dale talk to them since he's seated closest which direction they came from and what tracks they rode. they started from Lake Hughes and took dirt (without getting muddy) to get to the Rock Inn......hmmmm. thanks to these guys and i got the valuable info i have been looking for. we'll have another big bike ride on new tracks.

after lunch we all, including a rider on a GSA opted to take dirt to get back to San Francisquito

    2019.12.21 Angeles National Forest

it's almost a year now when i bought the monkey and haven't put a lot of miles on it. to be exact, 260 miles. i added an aftermarket exhaust and took it for a short ride. surprisingly, the new exhaust woke up the monkey. not noisy at all which i like but has a little rumble which enough to make me smile.

the local forest is about 12 miles from the house and the weather wasn't too bad.

one thing i like riding the monkey is it is very easy to pull off the road and find a convenient place to park
    [IMG]

first stop is the trailhead at Mount Pacifico on Angeles Forest Highway. i remember people saying it's open to motorcycles, and it appears it is. i have other places in mind so i leave this one for another day when i'm on my 701.

backtracked on AFH and to Upper Big T, then to the Crest. this trailhead has a similar entrance like the previous. not sure if it was for motorcycles....haha
    [IMG]

went to another trail and luckily i was able to ride through
    [IMG]

there's only very little snow left from the previous storm. it think the elevation here is about 5.7k feet
    [IMG]

the monkey did good except i bottomed out the front forks once which is still stock. the rear has been beefed with an aftermarket suspension
