...and some more.
thanks Eric for adding your pictures.....
always great to see you!
flying.moto.....glad to have you on the ride and i appreciate you taking the load off my shoulder in the last section (Liebre Mtn). i can't ride very well (dark face shield and sunglasses) after we hit fog at the higher elevation. nice to see your pictures. thank you!
smugmug is now hosting shorty vids...i have a few clips and will give it a try.
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?…
Just curious about the off roading in SoCal, is it just graded dirt roads?
I know open land is tough to come by with how populated the place is.
Only took one picture but others have done a very good job of documenting the ride.
This part of the group is done with the dirt, signs have been read, and we're getting ready to head home.
Don't let the crowded towns and cities fool you - the mountains and deserts and mostly empty.
There's lots of dirt roads around that aren't graded, as well some off road parks and single track in places.
Legal road in So KA, wouldn't call it "graded":
Legal BLM route in the Mojave:
They're not always easy to find, but they're out there.
i made sure the private property behind the barbed wire stayed dry and no trespassing was involved.
Socal has everything from sand, rocks, hills, mountains, single tracks and ohv areas. People forget it is still the desert just like Nevada.
we want more!
2020.06.06 Liebre Mountain Ride............continuation
feel free to copy your photo and others....something for us to remember
somewhere on 7N02 El Portal
nice berm to rail it
just keep on climbing
breaktime while someone in the background enjoying the view
then we hit fog
right to Rock Inn
we reached the alpine elevation
clear towards Lake Elizabeth
the perfect weather.....sunny but cool
It was fun indeed, and few who really chased me loved the pace. I’ll remember to brief the turn etiquette before the ride rather than after for the next time
Smugmug does host videos well, it is advrider that only allows YouTube and Vimeo so far.... unless I missed a turn somewhere
P.s. thank you for the awesome photos!
Pretty great stuff in this thread over the last couple of weeks.
I don't have time to put together a long ride report like the others recently posted, but I'll share my favorite pic (not my shot) from the trip to Mendocino NF that I did with a couple of buddies over Memorial Day weekend:
10 riders met at the secret meeting spot on a cool Saturday!
Another pit stop, deserving of a proper ADV Salute !!
Heading to the Rock Inn and lunch...
To be continued....
Man, had I know there was going to be so many pictures I would have worn my dress up gear.
WTP Eric...........I just asked for a French fry....
Maxwell took us into the clouds!
Beautiful up on the Saw Mills.
