Ooh! I might be headed out that way soon again. The eastern side has surprisingly a ton of awesome trails yet to explore... maybe connect it to the lava caves/tubes....

    :ricky

Day too started lazy twoo :freaky wait what?! :pynd

Good weather and new tracks called thought. Braaaaap! :ricky

Some old places visited along the way thought!

This was once a full on mining town, in Holcomb Valley. Now very few shreds of evidence remain... still a very nice place to ride!

See ya once more BB! :super

    Hello East Side! :super

East is soooo quick to be a desert! :evil :ricky

Last couple of pics are over near Heartbreak Ridge if that helps any. Been years since I visited the Alan Rowe Memorial.

There will be a map at the end of the update, and maybe even a gpx. :hmmmmm

I was mostly west of the Heartbreak Ridge! That's the area I want to return to next as there is a plethora of riding opportunities there! And I want to go more east to find some lava tubes... :norton

The awesome track I ended the latest update on is called Radford Camp Road. :bmwrider

More to come... lazily poking through some video footage :drink

    Somebody left the gate open
You know we got lost on the way
Come save us a runaway train
    Gone insane
How do we how do we not fade
How do we how do we how do we not fade away
How do we how do we oh
    Into the wild
How are we living living living
    Into the wild
How are we living living living

What a song, to scream in the helmet as I twist the wrist! :ricky

Just about here, coming down this mountain, I had flashbacks of Colorado! :smile6

A little while past this point, have I found the California version of Stelvio Pass?! Or just maybe... this one is a little more rad!

And at the bottom of the hill... there was a creek... maybe some trout to be had there?!

There were two ways west from that point. One went east first and was taken but... returned via pavement. The timing went well, but... left more dirt to explore on the next visit! :ricky:rilla

But wait! Last time I was here...there was this one offshoot somewhere, where I wanted to bring the drone to!

Next time in addition to the drone i'll bring a tent and more free time! and a beer! or three! :drink

It's a one way in one way out trail, not too difficult and a little deep and...rocky! yeah! But mostly easy and picturesque! :ricky

    Down THAT grade! :happay

    to this place!

    A little higher!

But the sun was setting, again, and I had to run west as soon as the second battery ran out... :ricky

See the wildfire and retardant signs?

What I was more amazed is to see the ridiculously huge houses on that ridge as I got closer... *sigh* i guess im getting back close to the civvy I tried to escape for a day or two....

    Til' next time, Inmates! :wave

Someday, I’d like to ride G16 from Greenfield to Carmel and back. I’ve done it in a car a few times. It would be really fun on a motorcycle.

I thot you'd gotten over there near the top of Rattlesnake Cyn, and it looks like I might have guessed right. That is on my short list once things cool down as I want to take it all the way down to 247.

Is that the track from the Apple Valley? I've been up that way, it's a good track... crashed the drone for the first time on the way :doh:becca

I may or may not have the right name, but the route runs from between Old Woman Springs and Bessemer Mine Rd on CA247 up to the portion of your track that resembles a right-facing horse's head at the extreme eastern edge. Something close to the red line in the attached image.

Coast ride to get out of the heat.

It was 94 degrees at the top of this hill and 67 degrees at the bottom.

Lucia Lodge is always a good place to stop for some fish and chips on the patio over looking the ocean. 365 mile day ride. 200 miles of that was in the heat. Going to wait until it cools down before going back.

One of my favorite places to stop for lunch in my local mountains at 9,600 ft elevation. This is at the north end of the Ducy Trail which has not opened yet this year.
