All TRS, all the time....
The plastic end cap on the muffler is known to break. As you can see, this one has taken some hits. I thought about buying a new one but I just see that breaking fairly quickly. I decided to take a crack at fixing it.
I drilled a hole in the plastic to take a 5mm RivNut.
Then I cut a little piece of plumbing strapping the bridge the the two holes together
Repeat the process for the other mounting holes.
Nice! I just replaced my end cap about two weeks ago - will try this next time.
So that's what they look like...if you ride em?
I believe there's a French manufacturer that makes those caps out of aluminum (at least for GasGas). Probably Jim knows about it. My bike had one and it's very well made.
Especially if the rider has trouble staying upright.
This one? https://trialssuperstore.com/products/gasgas-aluminum-silencer-end-cap
Well put that in your pipe and smoke it.
But seriously, what about the internal coating flaking off? Just run it?
I removed everything that was loose, put it back together and have been running it.
I emailed @Hoss Cartright but have not heard back.
Gas tank breather attachment post behind steering head. To remove does it just pull out? My big fingers can't feel back there to figure how it is attached. Went to a short breather hose with cap on end. Don't want to carry any more weight than necessary!
Warning TRS Promotional video!
It has tabs & snaps into place. I tried to remove mine last year when I changed & routed a new tube, but was afraid of breaking it so I left it be. Took quite some fiddling but I got it done.
Anyone want a low hour TRS Gold for a good price?
Trailer or garage fire?
No but how much for the mtb and road bike? That carbon wheel looks like it just needs a little truing. WTF?
Pic from the Lang’s Off-road Fire.
So Husband, the way the retainer clips are arranged on the tank breather could you push it in instead of trying to pull it out?
I was happy to toss a little donation in the go fund me pot given all they have done to support our sport and even happier to see they have already met their goal of $10K great to be part of the dirt biking community !!!
