    Hey all,
I've been following this forum regularly and I understand a few folks will be doing some serious travelling this summer. The weather 'gurus' are calling for a hot and dry Canada this summer!

My wife and I are leaving for a cross-country trip on May 21st. We leave Toronto and ride east to Nfld & Lab, then back to Toronto for a few days. On or before July 1st we then head west. Plans are to hit Dawson City, and time permitting, Inuvik.

I hope to see a few of you somewhere during our travels - any and all company is welcome. We are on a road-bike (black R1150R), as oppossed to a dualie, and I have tried to avoid the TCH as much as possible.

Our (humble) web site is http://www.motorcycle-overland.com
This gives a very general idea of our route.

Ride safe all, and enjoy the season!

    Have a great trip..

I visited your website and reviewed your gear...I noticed you are also using the Garmin Legend CX....I 'HAD' one...but, on my last ride to Whittier with the gang...lo and behold I looked down and my Legend was gone...vanished...I had this attached to the Garmin handlebar mount.

The good news is that I called Garmin and explained the scenarior and they tried to find me a refurbished Cx but could not so gave me a great deal on a new one (I am sure dealers cost...but, $100 less than retail).

Worst case I am going to tie off the bugger to my bike somehow..but, also make sure the little screwed is tightened on a regular basis.

Other than that I really liked the GPS unit.

    Buon Viaggio!

Yup...I've heard about these things flying off the mounts. I have a RAM mount and cradle, and also tying the unit around the handlebar with a lanyard.

    I went with RAM-B-149Z-GA16U.
Works great. No loosening or noticable vibration. Quite happy with it!

The spec does not identify the Legend Cx...which we both have...I assume there was not problem. :huh

    akphotog,
C and Cx have the same body. Have already used it this season. Works great!

Any real cross Canada trip should include the Island! Consider hanging a right at Williams Lake and including this. It's like adding a (relatively) inexpensive mini Alaskan cruise to your trip, and the riding on the Island is excellent.

All paved BTW. NB reservations required!

Look me up if passing by :wave
