You're right Toadride, but the thing that worries me is not the cold, it's the freaking 4 feet of snow we get as a warning to winter! (Perhaps it's time to discuss winter tires for the 800GS )

After my visit to the dealer yesterday, I came back to my senses and will still take delivery this season. He said that my configuration (yellow/abs/computer) will be there mid-oct. They are getting 2 next week, but not my configuration. I'll be able to see them in person, so I'll go take pictures to drool on.

OMG my first post. I have spent far too much time lurking during office hours and trying to multitask between the wife, the PVR, and the computer in the evenings - what did you say dear....hmmm, that's interesting....

An email reply from Blackfoot in Calgary said that they have a few available for November delivery and they are holding their launch on Oct 23 for both the F800GS and G450X.

Now I just have to decide between asking permision to buy one or beg for forgiveness after the fact...

I need a bike and a reason why it is safer than a fiberglass sports car.

Hm, that's weird, my dealer already has the G450X... As for the 800GS, they received one today but it's not mine...

Same here, my local dealer had 2 F800GS and 1 G450X in their shop. I was #1 to put a deposit down, but neither of two bikes there were mine.:huh

One F800 GS is being shipped to Newfoundland, the other is being picked up later by a buyer. The G450X has gone to Newfoundland, whoever got that 450X looks like he got an awesome bike.:1drink

You see, BMW changed the production schedual several times since the spring just to keep the dealers confused. Alas, my bike (grey, loaded, hold the ABS) fell into the production run (ABS bikes got put together first) after this first batch that just showed up in our dealerships.

So i'm now looking at mid to late october delivery.:puke1

With all the options I took, ABS, anti theft alarm, center stand, etc... it was close to $17,000 out the door.
