Can't forget the "clunk"!
That's the one outside the Air Force Club in Mount Hope.
Re. the Norseman: Anyone with even a passing interest in Canadian aviation must be aware of the connection between Red Lake, Ontario and the Norseman.
Heh, that's funny. I don't have a huge interest in aviation, other than I like to fly in small planes (as a passenger), but I'm originally from the Red Lake area. Everyone up there knows Norsemen, but I didn't realize how iconic they were outside NW Ontario.
Do they still have an annual Norseman gathering in Red Lake every summer?
I used to hear about that over the years.
Does this count as a plane on a stick?
Hey Rick, I should have known you would show with something on stick. Good one. Are you wintered in now? We are getting it here again.... The wind is blowing the snow around pretty good. No more riding for a while.
Waiting for pics of the one from Gimli, as well as the
Superfortress from that old drive in in tacoma
Its raining here today. The little bit of snow we had is melting. There is lots of winter to come so we will surely get our share. Winterpeg...aptly named I guess.
Needs a Scrambler strapped to the strut
Tried that...it doesn't fit, dammit.
National War Museum, Ottawa
It was facing the wrong way, obviously. Didn't you read the manual?
How about a pole cat?
It sat on a post along Lakeshore Blvd for 36 years...looking a bit sad at times and even had hippies living in it for a while! :eek1
It's now being restored at the Toronto aerospace museum.
Was hoping someone would post that one... rode past that almost every day for years when I was living on Queens Quay, never got a pic though. Glad to hear its being restored.
Gee that's smaller than I remember it...
