Don't know if this is helpful but my first planning is about gas. My KTM 690 + 1 gal rotopaX is 180 miles Max so I pay attention. Next will be some gas polishing and onto daily mileage and nightly stops.

Just to say... I don't think there is gas in La Garita and even if there is, you'd be better off fueling up down the line in Del Norte, CO mileage wise. Couple of choices there. Fairplay is between Breckenridge and Hartsel if that matters and they too have a couple of choices for fuel.

Thanks. Will look into your suggestions.

I will call all the gas stations prior to the trip to confirm hours, etc.

FWIW here's a pic of La Garita Trading Post with a gas pump out front.

If you plan to ride the long and remote section through the Great Divid Basin, keep Atlantic City, WY in mind. Between Pinedale, WY and Rawlings, WY. It has been a few years, but Bill of Wild Bill's Guns provides gas in cans if you arrange ahead. Premium on price. He also has a tire changing stand and couple of modest cabins. Especially helpful when traveling from south to north.

Wild Bill's Gun in Atlantic City, WY. Kind of a general purpose setup: gas, food, cabins, repair, emergency tow, guide, and more.

If you're into remote sections with nothing around for 100 miles in each direction, explore the Great Divide Basin. Make sure you carry plenty of water and a SPOT / Garmin SOS type device.

    Thanks and I've been there.

Here's a RR for my Wyoming trip.

Getting gas in Quemado has been iffy at times over the years. Better check that one too.
There used to be a gas station north of there in the middle of nowhere that is probably west of the CDR route.
I believe Countdown shows it in his version of the CDR.
