    Mexico mainland in 2007....
You know I have talked about this previously,
Do I have to Say: "Count me in"...
I certainly would like to plan something for next year, so
Walter, Steve, Todd, Dave, Lets see if we can decide on what month would work for all of us. I ended using most of all my vacation remaining for this year. The following two weeks are for me to use as I please, the remaining time off that I will have left is for (family use only)
Darn two months are going pretty quick.
My next Vacation allotment wont come til january 2007, I would like to have a date scheduled so when my turn to bid on my vacation, I 'll know what days to pick for this trip ...(and we are talking 2 weeks for the duration of this trip)

SO guys give it some thought and let's figure something

well I can be picky but it is up to you, as far as I am concerned I might bring some guiness and a few newcastle...but then again, they might not last the ride to your place...
I heard Barstoe might be HOT!!! and I might have to stop and hidrate myself..

Seriously, I'm so in for a mainland trip. Figure two weeks. I got that and
more next year. Don't plan on a bunch of folk coming for two weeks
though because many folks only get that for the whole year. And I'm
single and get 3 wks per year. Gonna be a small crowd.

Having been down there before I consider October the best time. Yep it
will rain but that's just part of the journey. September through December
will work as well. Just warmer and cooler, especially cooler in the mountains
    on the mainland.

I guess we should start a new thread for this trip. Lemme start to
formulate a trip and I'll post something when we get back. I have some
good flying buddies that can meet us down there at prescribed places/times
to replish supplies if necessary. Heck I may fly the trip by air and photog
the trip in advance. That would be very cool. Anybody want to come for
that airplane trip? Bring yer barf bags...

I'm bringing my little flask of "Jeremia Weed". That should last approximately
4 minutes at the first rest area. I'm completely dependant on you afterwards :lol3

As long as the alkeehaul % is better than water I'll imbibe. I'll let you
    decide. Souplize me.:clap

I did change out to a new TKC-80 rear for the Death Valley trip I did in May, but then I screwed it up by driving on it with 26-pounds for about 1000-miles. Now it's shot and I need another one for the dirt phase.

Actually, I still need to get it tomorrow sometime before I head over to your place...

Me too. Drank too much of the devil's grapes tonight to see straight enuf to pack rightly...

    Morning? Lemonade.
Evening? How about some of the famous Utah "Polygamy Ale" I've heard about (courtesy Hludwit).

Damn, Hoss, you inspire confidence. Count me in. I'll bring my own bag. :D

Finally got through a rough day, but I'm packed and ready to go! I'm stoked! See you guys about 3:30 Tomorrow. Hey I have all my camping gear packed, am I the only one? Maybe I should use the Gobi bags for beer coolers?

Nope, I'm camping gear ready, if the needs calls. But I can't wait to
taste a good cup of coffee since I don't have that capability. I need to get
one of those awesome burners you got, for sure.

    M. you can fly with me anytime you want. If we do a recon trip it
should only take three days. It will be fun, that I guarantee. We'll just
let Goerge fly most of the way. :freaky

I still dont understand? If I had a plane, I'd be flying over all these places and back home that night to sleep in my own bed, rather than eating dust for a few days.:D

    @ walter:
in regards to When to do this Mexico Trip, well anytime from March til last week before Thx giving day will work. The turkey day til X-mas is " blocked out " due to the busy season at work (No one in the entire company can take those days off unless of course I am injured somehow and cant drive)
I think next year I will have around six weeks off which is plenty of time.
I was seriously considering heading back to Au, however with gasoline prices been that high and maybe higher down under. The Mexico mainland trip sounds more appealing. see you in twelve hours.

    @dave

Gatorade sounds good, about the play tickets If anyone else is interested
I am game but if no one wants to do it... dont worry about it.
We will give you a call as soon as we hit Las Vegas or before

I wonder if 2 weeks is enough? Probably 3 days to cabo, 1 day on ferry = 4 days. Then add in another 4 days to get home... We are already up to 8 days and have not really seen much of the mainland. On the other hand 2 weeks is a relatively long time to be away.

I feel really comfortable in all of baja but I wonder if crime is worse over on the mainland side? My mexican neighbor says that there is a lot of drug trafficing in Southern Mex with the associated crime. This might just be talk, though.

Have fun in utah. I am looking forward to the report.

    steve

'Cause even with fast wearing TKC-80's, high gas prices, expensive motels, busted turn signals, it's STILL cheaper than 100 hr service, annual service, prop service, hangar rental, radio repair, a/c insurance and av-gas! :lol3 :lol3
