I hope this isn't breaking rules of pimpingmy stuff outside of vendors. I am in no way selling these myslef, and have nothing to gain except a good deal on a Scala for myself.

I am in the process of arranging a group buy for Cardo's new Scala G4 Bluetooth Communicators. WOuld like a quick rough estimate of number inmates who would seriously like in on it. Obviously the more units we order the better price we can get on them.
I have been waiting for these units to come out since I first spoke with the sales rep at the Indy MotoGP last August. Each unit has 40 watts of independent amplified sound. The tester I spoke with explained that, while wearing earplugs riding, he couldn't bear to turn his MP3's at more than 1/2 volume, it was so powerful. The Bluetooth is also supposed to function in full stereo, unlike the current Q2 offering only mono in Bluetooth function.

A quick rundown on features of G4:
    • Bike-to-bike intercom communication with 3 other headsets, with a remarkable range of up to 1mile
    • Link together for 4-way intercom conference calling between 2 couples riding on 2 motorcycles
    • VOX activation: intercom calls, answer, voice dial, redial, and call reject functions
    • Includes an embedded FM radio with scan/seek features and 6 station channel memory
    • Individual audio sources - each G4 headset can conduct mobile phone calls or listen to Fm radio or MP3 audio independently
    • Full Duplex – allows simultaneous talking and listening when using intercom connections
    • Talk time up to 10 hours, standby time up to 10 days
    • AGC Technology - headset automatically adjusts it’s own volume based on ambient noise anhd driving speed
    • Noise cancelling microphone
    • Weather resistant design
    • Fits virtually all 3/4 and full face helmets
    • Note: Range may vary according to terrain
Scala Rider G4 Headset is compatible with the following:
    • Bluetooth enabled mobile phone
    • Both Stereo and non-stereo Bluetooth enabled mp3 player, adapter, or mobile phone
    • Bluetooth enabled GPS unit
    • Scala Rider Q2 headset
    • Scala Rider Solo/FM/Teamset

It would depend on how close the price comes to what the Parrot SK 4000 is going for now. If its close then I'm game. If not I'll probably get that. What kind of discount are we talking about, ballpark-10, 20, 40%?

Just down the road from you in London. As others have stated, I would be interested based on price. I want a pair of them (powerset / teamset).

I'd be interested in what they describe as a Power Set. Team Set looks like the G2 nomenclature. Let me know about pricing and availablility ASAP. If they are coming soon I may put off a helmet cam purchase!

OK. I am talking with a few suppliers and working on best pricing for us.

I posted this to get an idea as to how many sets we could move, because the more I can tell the supplier we are likely to move, the more motivated they'll be to get us a better deal.

Keep checking here- I will post up what i can arrange soon. Thx gang.

Does anyone know if this will BT an Iphone in stereo? I think I heard the iphone 3G is the wrong type of bt for stereo music. Sorry, don't know the jargon. I just want to know if it'll work! If so, I'm IN!

Yes it does. It's called A2DP or something like that.

I'll be using it with my Droid.

A little off topic, but has anyone installed this on a Hornet DS helmet :evil

I'm in the market - but haven't really had time to do the research on Cardo vs Autom or similar...

I don't think that they have actually been released yet, so we'll have to wait for actual user reviews. I'd like to be contradicted if anyone knows otherwise!
