    SOOOO

@Apple Jam was supposed to meet me at his house at 2:00pm to fix the apple box trucks rear brakes. He was not there and has not responded to TXT messages. I sent him a message that if i don't hear from him by noon Monday I was going to start a "AJ is missing thread". I think, hope and assume he just forgot the plans we made last Thursday and is just out riding his new bike.

But at what point do I sound the alarm? after dark tonight? He should have surfaced to cell coverage by now? At least long enough to respond?

    never mind

Fun times. Saturday we rode 70 miles and cleared about 5 trees. Conditions were great after a little rain. Thanks for the tour AJ.

Isn't that little Summit Lake ^^^ beautiful?
Uhhhh, sorry, Eric, indeed I forgot with the mission of getting through Bennett Pass today. It's passable, but just barely and witha lotta work pushing through snow. By next weekend it should be easy!

That explains the motorbike racing line we saw there instead of treefall!

Good to see Pinhead is clear, I go and winch myself up into there in the snow early season but then have to wait until mid summer usually to get up there due to too deep of cementy snow. That camp spot up there is somewhat sacred to me. I go up there to celebrate the good things and mourn the bad. Not ashamed to say when my dad passed I had a 45min cry up there leaning on the spare tire of my 4x4 at about 1am. Then cranked the tunes, stoked the fire and had another beer. Was also the first place I went for good times when I got my pilot's license.
If they are still in the same spot the two rocks out away from the fire pit are my truck leveling rocks. hehe (More often than not I sleep in the rig)

Not had a chance to ride the TW up there yet, may need to do that soon with camp gear.

What time are you starting out on Saturday? Might it be feasible to meet up morning of before launch, even without camping Fri night?

Also, are you launching from the same camp both days or are you taking camp with you for Sat night?

We won't leave camp before 10am, sometimes later, we'll see, but not before 10am.
Plenty of time for you to ride down before we take off Saturday morning.
Whichever camp I find on each Friday, I will keep as basecamp all weekend. Big Dual Sports can go far fast.

Yeah I traded my dl1000 with 50k in on a 1090r.. it would have been impossible to sell my vstrom with those miles.. sport mode rocks!!! I hate turning off the traction control every time a light the fire!

    In the post...

Plan "A"....The reserved spots at Little Lava Lake are full, but half the sites are just walk-up only, which means we'll have a really good chance of snagging a couple walk-up sites early enough on Fridays....

Little Lava Lake CG is a small campground, we should be easy to spot. I'll get there just after noon on that Friday, maybe. If spots are full, we'll skip the huge main Lava Lake CG, and head to...

Plan "B"...at Cow Meadow Campground, on the Deschutes River just as it leaves Crane Prairie Reservoir, on FS4600-620....

    Rad. Thanks.

I need to be in Seattle the 2nd, so I'll see if the wife wants to head down for a weekend of camping. Maybe head out Friday afternoon.
