Between Goulburn and Oberon - on the Abercrombie River
Why was it named Bummaroo?
Roughly 25 km north of Taralga; About 1 1/2 hrs from my place. Great ride down into the Abercrombie R
Bummaroo is an aboriginal word, meaning ''yearly gathering of motorcycles''.
I must have a very sick mind....
Don't worry, it's not compulsory.
Noooo aboriginal word meaning freeze your nuts off.....
My mind must have been all over the shop when I asked the location. I was thinking we’d drop in during our ride to Townsville but we aren’t leaving Perth until the end of June !
You taking the 'shortcut' past Taralga ?
Probably wont be going, heading north a week or so later so need to get a bit of o/t so I can afford all those beers on the beachfront
I'm thinking of coming to this, daughter seems keen also.
Actually not sure Aboriginals of the region had a word for Freeze or nuts - I think the closest would be 'Dagara Gadya' of maybe Bayin
So the renaming of the Rally should be the Dagara Gadya Rally
Quiet a beautiful language .....
It's the Aboriginal name for the Abercrombie.
