Sorta...it's been out of commission for awhile. Was boiling gas. I brought it to Brooke Point high school for the shop teacher to trouble shoot. Super nice guy and he does all of the work on our cars. That was a few years back. Guess I need to see how it's coming.

Well, mine has done the same thing but only when hot in slow going.

How's that campground? It's on my list for an overnight. I suppose it was quiet during the week, eh? And, yeah, people suck.

It does have the fan kit, but it's never worked. I hot wired it on the side of the trail once so it'd run, otherwise it's never come on at all. I can pick it up from the school if you've ever got time and don't mind lending a hand. Love the bike.

Nice little spot on dead end road that was once site of a CCC base. River surrounds 10 sites on 3 sides but was nearly dry. Plenty of firewoo to scrounge. Clean pit toilets, no water. Camp is overseen by Wayne, the Host. Been there 6 years and very talkative. He said it is full on weekends. $5 per person or $2.50 golden pass. 2 other sites occupied. Last night 11 Girl Scouts showed up with a ukulele and #%$# ensued but they were quiet by 9pm. I’d go back. There are a number of good boondocks fire pit sites along Road above Elkhorn Lake too.

Rode out rt250 for a late lunch at Highs in Monterey (with a banana-maple milkshake). Came back through Palo Alto/Brushy Fork/Stokesville. Great riding weather; couple mini sprinkles to keep the heat down!




Should be an ad up in the flea market soon for the fat tire bike --- as soon as I get around to washing it!

I need to get back out to Monterey when there isn't a maple festival going on. Last time I went it was rather unenjoyable, and it looks like such a nice little town with cool places.

A maple banana milkshake sounds... interesting. I may have to try that. Does High's do takeout or to-go meals?

The banana-maple milkshake was a happy accident since I misread the menu and combined flavors! Tasted good anyway


@goosecreek She is thinking she wants a new xt250. May need to lower it a bit for her. She is after more suspension travel and MORE SPEED. The "little TW that could" is only able to manage 55-60 and long stints on the road are not very fun!
