    Here's whatcha do:
Go up to the top menu of the forum, click on "control panel", then "edit signature" and you can put that puppy on each post automatically. Every time you edit the sig.. it will then show up however you want it, even on previous posts. That's how I keep up with my "hike miles" thingy.

    Hey Darren;
I think I figured it out.
    SLOCO.
Sign up for the WMRS ride. I actually have a pass for the whole weekend. I hear they have beer there too....at least that's wht Bob was saying.
Glad you guys made it back okay.

DDennis being followed by DarrenO, the water wasn't as deep compared a few weeks ago.

But DarrenO can still make a big splash

We went through all the hazards without a scratch. The trail is just amazing, we all had a good ride.

Good section of the trail is in the shade, cool but hard to read the lines
    [IMG]

There was plenty of daylight when we got done with Hi Mountain Rd, and we're out of dirt. The group decided to ride the paved canyons to Lopez Lake, and Arroyo Grande. Beautiful sceneries along the way, while Wally and Jeff were more interested in the female population.

Motel 6 of Santa Margarita is one of the best and cleanest of the chains. Not surprised it was fully booked.

Afterwards, we hit Jocko's in Nipomo for dinner and meet more FFs.

The ny steak is $28 but huge and delicious

Walt's portion, it's the small order and gave it the salute :lol3
    [IMG]

IdeaMan opted for the bigger portion like me.

Jocko's was Wally's idea or Walt?, but the guys did good job steering us there. And this is Wally's
    [IMG]

Jeff's and everyone's choice - Fat Tire beer
    [IMG]

Only DDennis was able to resist the onslaught on beef
    [IMG]

The meat wil actually turn your eyes red!

We ended our day just before midnight. Everything about Saturday was good for most of us. Sorry to see Treadless go home sooner, but we will see him again, this time on a different bike :eek1

I'll post the Sunday Ride tomorrow.................:snore

Thanks you guys for putting together a great route for Sunday. It was great to meet and ride with you guys. A suggestion for next year, a little less public nudity.

Thanks Dave for the Quatal heads up. Anyone reckless can really get some serious air and get hurt. Thanks also for coming along (partly).

We didn't see any traffic or closure at all. Rode along fine, and I tell you, the Camino is one of the best hidden secrets (not anymore) above SB.

Your scooter is fine on the trails but you have to add a bigger brother in your stable.

For breakfast we hit Pappy's on Battavia Rd., right at the start of our planned route.

When we arrived just past 8am, Walt B., DarrenO, and John (XCountry Rider) bikes are already parked outside.

Immediately we joined the 3 FFs, and didn't take very long for shit to hit the fan

Later on, the waitress told us to cut out the crap and read the menu. Wally in a way jokingly made a remark, and she responded that I've used to servicing truckers and bikers don't mean shit! :lol3
    [IMG]

Breakfast was served and those pancakes were good! Darren O is amused to hear Walt's story, which we heard over and over last night.

Dave is an easy guy, a toast, couple eggs and OJ are all he needs, that's why he's not fat like us!

Here's Wally and ordered an egg breakfast and chile verde lunch combo. You could tell he's one happy FF. There's also like half a dozen corn torilla in that round red container.

Jeff has a good appetite too

    Me, I want it simple

Walt knows the area very well so he's leading the ride on his freshly fixed GS1200, at least to the parking lot :lol3 !

He has to pick the GS up from Fresno so he can join us. [IMG]

The rest of the guys waiting for you know who!

The CHP didn't like us hanging out near the highway.

While the rest of us start to get moving, Wally's reacted with suck my #^@! posture!

While I was busy taking pictures the FFs blasted away. Took me a while to catch up with them, but it seems they look BORED :bore. Anyway, to you FFs take this :fyyff
    [IMG]

John's first time riding with us, that explain why he was nice to me! Or he realized he doesn't have much gas and saw my 7 gal tank and saw relief!

Rare moment! Thanks Dave for taking my picture :thumb

More pics tomorrow! :lurk And I got more than 200 pictures to post.

Joel, thanks for all the great pics. It helps out to see all the great scenery I missed trying to keep sight of Wally and Jeff so as not to get lost.

Walt, thanks for your picks too. Walt, you are actually "Stan" whom I was thanking for your hard work to put this ride together. I can't explain my use of Stan??? in place of your name Walt, only to say I was very tired on Monday night after the long weekend ride , coupled with my delicate psychological mindset following my Monday afternoon Doctors visit to get the 45,000 mile lube, tune-up and oil change on my body (i.e. Fletch - are you usin the whole FIST Doc?... Moon River...).

Thanks John for the company back to the Central Coast late Sunday night, that made the ride home safer and more enjoyable. And to ideaman, your right - SLOCO, x5657. Anyway, great thread folks!

It was fun meeting everyone for at least breakfast this past weekend. The XRV is naked in the garage waiting for the owner to get parts from the UK, but it can't wait to roam freely as it did below:

As additional proof to how off the day was for me I only had my camera out twice. :baldy

This one from breakfast Saturday. Our server/group photog.

A penny for your thoughts Mario! :evil

A few of the natives out for the afternoon.

FYI sunday was spent with cold packs wrapped to my legs or waiting for the cold pack to refreeze so they could be replied. :tough The only bruise is on the right shoulder, maybe from busting one of the branches of the bush that caught me. :eek1 Looking at Joel's pic of the corner it didn't look like I scrubbed off much speed before the launch point :pynd and I left a nice hole in the bush. :jack

The 340+ mi. for the day was much longer and costlier than expected :becca and I am convinced that the seat is a mid-evil torture device even with the sheep skin and foam wedgies. :lol3

At any rate lot of fun was had, mostly, and it was great meeting more of you FF's.
Joel, thanks for the photo documentary, good job. You get one of these :fyyff just because. :D

Oh and there is still more that needs to be told :deal like a GS in a truck parts missing from a GSA and there is more. Come on guys spill the beans, or I'll start telling the real story of how I was run off the road. :deal

My bud and I passed you guys going the other way on West Camino Cielo. I feel slightly better knowing that /7 ( edit : /6 ) has a high fender and GS forks. I saw it out of the corner of my eye, and though WTF? I used to ride an RS...

We were on a yellow DRZ and a Blue-red-white XL600.

    Happy riding!

Mike, can't you hold that camera a little higher! :eek1 And a little ZOOM would have made a lot of FFs happy!

Anyway, good to hear you're ok!
