He was walking across the street and sat down when I pulled up to take the photo at 07:39.

Good place to go for Black Friday, no waiting in line and the parking lot is so massive it makes you feel like you are the only one there.
That sign has been laying there how many years???
Probably knocked over by these guys
I thought the same thing. I pulled in there Saturday just to look around and was surprised to see the sign. I thought this would be a great tag, so went back and got it today.
I don't remember the original location of the sign and don't know how long it's been laying there.
In satellite view you can see tire tracks looping around the parking lot, probably the drifters.

I haven't been through there in a while, when did the BBQ place build the building?
Don't know, kind of surprised me when I saw that new building, it is nice. I'm going to have to get up there some weekend and have lunch.
They built it in phases and spaced them out so if you didn't know the overall plan (if there was one) you might think that's all they were doing when they finished a phase. They started out just adding steel framing and roof over the outside dining area. I go by there fairly often so it's hard for me to remember the timeline. I would have said the cover went up a year ago but looking at pictures on their facebook, it looks more like maybe 2 years ago.
Here is a news clip from Jan 2019 - link
I think this summer they added a concrete slab under the roof. Shortly after that they added the sides, then another 15' or so extension to the south end, then just recently the garage doors, then another covered (not enclosed), addition on the east side. It's still in work, there are now forms in front of the garage doors, ready for concrete.
We used to go there but it has become too successful (crowded) for me and have not been there for a couple of years.

I wonder if there is a modern day map showing the route of the Ozark Trail? That might be an interesting ride.
Maybe not what you are looking for but still a good resource. These are not modern day maps but archives of old maps.
Oklahoma DOT State Highway Map Archive - link
1916 map - This map shows section lines.
1925 map - There are 3 versions of this map. One has route descriptions. Looks like the Ozark Trail was route 7.
Oklahoma Historical Society - OZARK TRAIL HIGHWAY - link
Thanks for the links, I’ll be exploring them.
