Rode out to Mineral Wells/Palo Pinto area yesterday. Had a route planned but ran into closed gates every 20 feet it seemed

So we got more creative with our route planning and I'm pretty happy with what we found :clap

Oh come on. You know every road around you and I can't even have a secret river crossing 100 miles away!! I give up. I'm gonna have to ride Hawaii to find roads you guys don't know.

This is looking south from where the road and the railroad were at the same elevation. The RR is dead center of the photo. From here the road drops into the bottom land that you see in the antique photo. N 31 46.552 W 98 9.788
    [IMG]

Riding south is an old iron bridge. The new bridge is pretty recent. N 31 46.280 W 98 9.742

    Old tunnel. N 31 46.050 W 989.133
    [IMG]

The RR runs with CR103. CR103 ends at CR101. Landowners put a facade on another old bridge and use it as their property entrance. Apparently the County just bulldozed through the rail bed to build CR101 (left). The rail bed continues East (right) and the old trestle is to the West (left) in this photo.

I decided to return to Round Rock via Fort Hood. Unfortunately they had started a range fire and were in cease fire mode. I heard some booming after I was south of Killeen. Damn.

Had a great little run up from Dallas to Red River County on Saturday. Managed to keep a lot of the riding on smaller dirt and away from civilization. It was wonderful :lol3

Scot didn't fall here, there was just something in the mud he wanted to look at very closely..very quickly :evil

Ran through a lot of farms and ranches

Then washed the bikes before heading home.

Well seeing as I let him go first, I was able to pick a pretty good line :lol3 I made it through without falling, Scot only dropped it once on his own and then he let it fall once so he could come help me so I didn't. Man, I am really looking like a real ass here :rofl Fun day though!
