it looks like I am not going to be moto camping this weekend. My plates didn't come in the mail so it looks like I am just gonna go car camping somewhere out by wishon. im going to park the car and backpack around until I find a place with a nice view.

Awesome pics! Thanks for the report. I just saw on the FS website that Courtright Lake is open now too...I can't remember the last time that road opened before June/July. It's going to be a dusty summer.

What's crazy is that, for the first time ever, wilderness areas are currently exempt from the campfire ban. That works for me since I'm going backpacking all weekend :D

I suspect that this fire ban order has mostly to do with how many people are dispersed camping right now...they're trying to thin out the numbers in the forest.....

I try and avoid it myself these days - happier for it, but missing out on some ride opportunities myself.

There might have been a campfire ban, but nobody was adhering to it. I ended up off of McKinley grove rd again next to the same spot I was at on Memorial Day weekend. It got to the mid 20s on Saturday night. Lots of people in the woods car camping and trailer camping. It was enjoyable overall, and got some nice night pictures. I wouldn't mind if it got a little warmer out though.

Nice shot! Glad to see you're out exploring the area, it'll be much nicer once they open the campgrounds back up.....then all of our good dispersed sites will be available again:D
I was with a couple of friends this weekend east of Courtright Reservoir...on foot...it was freezing cold in the mornings! Frozen water bottles, etc.

I'm finally getting my DR650 back in rideable order!....currently replacing the ignition pick up coil...turns out that the hardest part of the job is scraping the old gasket off the stator cover :dirtdog....should be ready for some dual sporting action in about 2 weeks :lol3:lol3

Still some decent water coming down the small creeks..I thought they would dry up sooner from the lack of snow pack this year...

I just heard this morning that the highway between Grant Grove and Lodgepole has significant delays because of road construction. Not sure exactly where the road construction actually starts and ends.

Nice Vid! That's a fun piece of rock to ride :ricky.

A few of us moto-camped at Browns creek on Friday night (below Shuteye on Whiskey Ridge) then took Central Camp Rd up to Beasore meadow on Saturday & then over to Cattle Mountain. I'll post up a few picks later...

I finally got some decent luggage in the form of Tusk Panniers...ah what a difference they make. I can get to my stuff now without unstrapping bags to rummage through their contents. :clap

Camino Creek...at the top of Camino Falls...Mt Tom is directly above the creek water

Justin, I know where Camino Creek crosses under Grizzly Rd. But where did you hike in from to get to the top of Camino Creek?
