Rode that road a couple of months ago and couldn't believe they finally opened it up. My understanding was they improved the road after the fire but it seemed just the same as it has always been.

Hi! I'm in Fresno from Seattle for a couple weeks and have my well equipped DRZ with me so I'm looking to do some dual sporting! I grew up in this area many years ago so I know the general layout of the area but really don't know the dirt roads or trails. Who wants to ride? My GPS will be arriving in the mail soon so I am hoping to download some tracks as well. I rode down on a street bike (St1300) so I can ride that as well but really looking to do some dual sport. I've had plenty of family time so starting the day after Thanksgiving I'm looking to ride EVERY DAY. My DRZ has a big tank, reworked suspension wide ratio gear box and some luggage for tools and food so I'm good for long days. Can do short days too! Give me a call and send me some trax, let's go ride! 206.251.4274

The Sierra National Forest is currently closed...that forest orders goes through tomorrow 11/24, but they extended it twice now since the creek fire started...fingers crossed that it will be open this weekend.

I wish I knew that side of the forest better....I know where to go up there in the summer time, but what is accessible in winter?

Made it up to the backside of Burrough Mtn today. The Creek Fire really did a number to that area, dang shame.

Thx. It's a hoot, but having 200lbs. + on my Beta, I'm careful where I wander, especially when solo.

Hey y'all - do you know of any good spots to ride around in the dirt? I just bought my first dual sport (KLR 650) and I'm looking to improve my dirt chops. Close to west Fresno is ideal. Thanks in advance!

Pics from this weekend. Perfect weather, but dusty like it hasn't rained in decades!

If you are talking about a random dirt field or ditch bank, I've got nothing sorry. The best dirt roads in Fresno county to ride during winter are mostly up behind Pine Flat Reservoir IMO. If you are looking to head up that way let me know & I can send you some map links.

    Thanks

A dirt field I think is kind of what I'm going for, but I'll happily accept map links too. Thanks for your help!

These are my 2 favorite winter dual sport loops for Fresno County.....the mapped route follows easy dirt forest roads, but there are also plenty of options for further exploration in both areas..
