Well defined critieria, from that link ..........

    Centre of Victoria

Located around 10km south-south-east of Bendigo, the centre of Victoria might be considered to be on the steps of the Mandurang Uniting Church. No longer in use, the church sits on the site that corresponds with centroid calculations from a number of different organisations, including Geoscience Australia, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DNRE), and the Department of Geospatial Science, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).

    Location: 36° 51' 15" South, 144° 16' 52" East

Plug those coordinates into Google Maps, and I get this:

Not very remote, but at least no walking involved, even better no tracks or gravel.

By coincidence, it's much the same for the spirituous centre of Queensland

Depends on the criteria. You can do the blacktop all the way in, hence the number of BMW's there the other week.

My vote would go for Woods Point in Vic, an hour of dirt in any direction.

Unfortunately Im not in Wattsy's league :lol2
However there is a big difference riding an unloaded bike compared to something that's carrying days of water and fuel and fighting the unexpected.

I can tackle the tuffer stuff if Im confident that I can stop in places of my choosing :-)

Not the original I don't think. And from what I've heard you are lucky if they are open and sell nothing.
The original became an office for the Morning Star Mine, or similar. I think.
Was a long time with no store at all.
