He should definitely see Moab.
jonz knowest whereof he speaks! Listen to the Highwayman.
God knows what thread is what anymore, but as I posted elsewhere CJ is welcome in McMinnville if he is heading to the coast. Lots of room, garage for the bike, washer/dryer, three dogs, tools, etc. Only an hour out of PDX, but it might be a nice way to get a well-rested, collect-the-wits start on a long journey.
Moab?...............Not much to see or do there
If anyone on a tour of The USA hits Roswell, they have either seen everything else, or they are lost.
By the way, should CJ want to try out some off road desert riding and swing a little farther south, I could guide and loan/swap a KTM 520EXC/640 Adventure for checking out some of the AMA district 37 race routes south of Barstow. My bikes are already well used and pretty much immune to cosmetic damage (vast understatement )
Any definitive plans for the next two to three days? I'm heading out tomorrow - will go along the coast because I don't know what you're doing. I would like to meet up with your entourage on Thursday at some point, so a hint would be helpful.
If you're still up in the air - east Oregon, or the CA coast, I'll check until I leave around noon tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to meeting you!
I put up a post in regionals west about CJ rolling through SF Bay Area.
Please help me plan it there.
If we can get him to MOAB, that means Arches, Canyonlands North & South, WHITE RIM TRAIL, Dead Horse Point, Escalante Highway, Arches, Monument Valley, Mokee Dugway, Goosenecks, EL MORRO, EL Malpais, THE VLA west of Roswell, NM 152, WHITE SANDS, and so much more. Oh that's right he only has 28 days here . . . . and we need to get him east.
CJ: Enjoy the ride, I'm looking forward to seeing you back in Seattle for the GALA send off party. Thanks for enriching all of us with your observations and pictures of our country.
I have updated the first post about the Day 1 destination.
If they looked something like these, then i havent seen them
Drop him off alive in Barstow and I'll drag him to Death Valley. No promises after that.
