Don't know if she's old enough to qualify but was told I should post this here. Picked it up for $1300. High miles, needs some work, but I think it'll make for a nice summer touring rig once I get it sorted.

^ Those FZ6's hold their value pretty well. It's unusual to see them priced below $3K in my area. How many miles on it?

Your FZ6 looks pretty good to me. Congrats again on the bike.

104k miles. Motor seems happy. The rest could use attention though.

Old story, I saw an ad for a free 77 Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans that had been crashed and burned, called the guy and said I'll be down the next day. Got into my not so trusty 88 S10 better known as the Rust 10 Valdas I headed down to NJ, I gave him $100 and brought it home. After a few years and many dollars the LeMans was back on the road. 850 lemans.jpg P1060546.jpg

In 2007 I went to a swap meet held at the Time Warp Tea Room in Knoxville. I didn't plan to buy anything , it was just something to do. But , I'd always had a little interest in these 2 year only Yamaha XV 920 . This one had been re-painted and was low miles @ 17,000. The tires were visibly cracked , but , with full tread.
The asking price was $1000 , noted and mulled over , I watched all day as folks would go up to the seller , check out the bike and walk away. As the meet was wrapping up , I went over and made my offer. $750.00 He said he'd have to think it over. I started reloading my van , then he came over and said he'd take that.
I had to deal with a few issues . The starter button would contact only if you pushed hard enough to hurt your thumb. Strange , so I took the housing apart to find the spring would coil bind before contact was made. A new spring and a little fiddling and I was riding. I ended up putting 4000 miles on those cracked tires without ever having a "moment".
In 2009 I rode it to Seattle and left it in my cousin's garage. In '10 I flew back and did a 2400 mile loop to Montana and back to Seattle.

That trip included the Magruder Cooridor from Elk City ,Idaho to Darby ,Montana . It's the longest unpaved road in the lower 48 states.

In 2011 I flew back to pick up the bike , then rode it into Canada , then down to the Mexican border before riding home to Kentucky.
So buy them cheap and play with them.

^ Really wish Yamaha had done something similar to this with their current air-cooled 950 engine instead of the SCR950 (but it looks like the SCR950 was a 1-year model too).

Fella I used to ride with years ago had a Guzzi. Said the seat was made of the “finest Italian marble”.

Thats a nice little bike, good upgrades on it. I bought one in 2016, it's a secondary bike for us but it has over 5k on it now, no issues. I change the oil every 1k miles, clean and adjust as needed and enjoy.

I picked this one up to run around the mountains and commute some as a secondary too. Took it on a 50ish mile gravel/dirt ride yesterday and really enjoyed it. It’s geared low right now so it tops out at 55, but that’s just about perfect for what I’m doing with it. Glad to hear yours has been dependable!

We had one that was great. Tough, cheap to run, parts were dirt cheap. Sold it on to a new rider and I am sure it is doing fine. Would buy another CSC

I thought I'd missed out on posting in this thread for the 4th time in 12 months then I realised it is most likely 1500 USD.

So.... I went to pick up a cheap bike trailer the other morning. The day after I had just finished the restorations of two of my other cheap bike challenge entries, a $161 f650 funduro and a $645 bike of the same model.

Whilst negotiating the trailer price I noticed an g650gs poking out of the garage. A conversation about it started that led to the chap suggesting a might want to buy it. My response went along the lines of No way mate I am over doing up bikes.... The misses would kill me..... I have 10 I don't need 11...... any price I offer is going to be silly low.

No matter how hard I tried not to buy it he was desperate to sell. I offered him a silly price and didn't budge and he eventually took it FFS.....

    It is a 2010 g650gs with 18,000 miles.
$1161.35. After the negotiations concluded he then brought out previously unmentioned panniers and a topbox... lol.

So I came home with the trailer for $225 and the bike for $1161 see pic

Other pics. The two cheap bike challenge f650 bikes after restoration.

You put your finger on something there ... I haven't been drawn to the Funduro, unlike so many, but with a makeover they're quite something.
This one kinda looks like a hybrid between the Funduro and the R.E. Himalayan.
