Loaded and ready! Now if the carrier doesn't spit in half I should be good. :D

I mounted some wheels on the rear and it makes it much easier to drag around by myself. I need to remember to put my magnetic tail lights on....

The reflector tape was a GOOD idea. :clap

It makes a huge difference in being seen.

Looks like it was never plumbed with running water ? :confused

I'm just as worried about people in the parking lot seeing it and not banging their shins. Easy thing to do when something is low and out of sight. I would hate for another old person like me to whack themselves on it. :-)

With a quick twist of the wrist, I could be persuaded to ride up to Kentucky for a weekend ride. Let me know when you firm up your plans.

Eastern Kentucky is quite fine, but consider, perhaps in addition, joining me on another mutton run to St. Mary of the Woods picnic in Daviess County at end of September.

    See, e.g., this:

I could make that happen as I’m easily persuaded when it comes motorcycle rides. I was not far from there last weekend doing a loop through land between the lakes.

Unfortunately for me September is full two camping trips and work will keep me busy. Looks like fun tho. I have to take care of my significant other. Camping trips shall not be missed. That is her main vacations.

edit: It looks like I do have some time off, but it is the 9th and 10th. The last 3 weeks are booked. Probably should hold off for an early October ride after taking care of the wifes vacation needs. :D If she is up to it. we may go back to the Maggie Valley area to tour the Builtmore and do my favorite thing in the world. Sit in the truck as she hits the outlet malls in Asheville. :augie There will be no riding on this adventure.

I may be able to meet up on a Sunday for some food if you swing back near my riding area. Doesn't have to be Ripley.

I will. :thumb I think my friend from TN that brought his Sportster up to WV will be going. It just depends on the timing.

Not sure, was definitely interesting, cabin and land were beautiful, but the bidding war got outta my price range, and it was precovid, it's probably already gone up a 100K in two years.

This will be long and there will be some duplication from the post in the DR thread, but I will add in many more pics, so I can remember this wonderful trip to Maggie Valley.

On the first night in, Josh and I go out for a short run.

First stop, Josh telling me c'mon the thing on the right twist it further...

    7-10-2021-2.jpg

The next day we start what would end up being a 150 mile 9 hour day. It rained on us for an hour or so, but who cares. @justBert has a lot of guts taking the 790 down the roads we went. :nod I know I wouldn't take my TT down these tracks... :p3rry He had the unfortunate duty of playing sweep both days. He witnessed my snail like reflexes for two days. :snore Thanks Bert!

    7-10-2021-3.jpg

There will be multiple shots of some areas. I want to remember each direction.

    7-10-2021-4.jpg

An old farm taken over by the park. Josh says typically elk are seen in the fields, but there were none to be found this day.

    7-10-2021-5.jpg

Imagine sitting on your front porch and looking at this every day. WOW!

So, we leave the farm house and go up to the #1 spot I asked him to show me. It did not disappoint. :thumb

    7-10-2021-9.jpg

I thought this solid log bridge was cool...

    7-10-2021-12.jpg

Josh told me what this was for, but all I remember is Bla bla bla due to me being in sensory overload. The road going up to it was very large and tough to ride on limestone. Please chime in Josh! It was extremely pretty.

    7-10-2021-13.jpg

    Bert thinking Oh My...

    7-10-2021-14.jpg

Josh climbed down to take a pic of me with my bike on the fall. I wussed out since a trip upside down to the bottom was highly likely if you messed up on the trail along the side of the hill. :rofl

My view when we left each stop up to the first curve. Then it was empty road... :scratch

    xxxx-2.jpg

    xxxx-3.jpg

I woke Bert up so we could leave.

    xxxx-4.jpg

It was starting to sprinkle and we just got out of the roughest section before the rain. We all went down this day, but they were all drops not wrecks. No major damage and no one was hurt, so it was all good. :D

    7-10-2021-24.jpg

@NC Rick did join us for half a day, but once he did, I never had enough time to get my camera out for a pic since he and Josh were no where to be seen. When I would catch up to their next rest stop. They would take off and I just had to keep going....and I had to keep waking Bert up by blowing the horn because I was going so slow he was dozing off.

I've ridden all over the country on road. The red rocks out west and the desert is beautiful.
However, I absolutely love bright green forests, mountain streams, gravel and dirt roads, especially when it's damp to wet. The smells, the abrupt changes in temperature, various plants, the lack of dust, NEVER gets old. You've got it at home, of course Josh does, and even here in MD and PA there's a lot. I don't have the readily available trail system you guys have, but non the less, having a bike that's on / off road capable really allows for some beautiful rides.
    I'll never be without one.

@SloSolo2 and @dbarale joined us for day two. We met at the Wheels thru time parking lot.

First stop, the top of the world.

    7-10-2021-26.jpg

Bert was even more bored following me on the Beta...

    7-10-2021-27.jpg

Josh going over the finer point of precision mud slinging.

    7-10-2021-28.jpg

I just catch up again and they all leave....:ear

    7-10-2021-29.jpg

This pulverized asphalt road bed crap sucks! It's like sand when deep and when packed hard and wet whoa!

    7-10-2021-30.jpg

I catch up again and Rick asks me if I got lost. :D

I forgot to post my filet 10oz sandwich. Dang that thing was good. I wish I had one now....:dukegirl

Time to go unpack. The hitch carrier did good. Time to take it partially apart until next time.
