Chevron has been installing NFC readers for Apple Pay in there pumps now. But when I try and add my Chevron Card to my iPhone, it is rejected. I can use my Discover card at their pump with Apple Pay.

Has anyone been able to add their Chevron card to Apple Pay or is Chevron just stupid?

    Thanks.

(I am not looking for alternative ideas, just want to know if anyone has succeeded).

Not every card issuer works with Apple Pay. I'd call the number on the back of your card and ask.

I had a credit card a year ago that didn't work with Apple Pay... and then shortly after I talked to them and confirmed it, I got a letter in the mail from the card issuer telling everyone that they work with Apple Pay now.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who uses it. I read an article about the slow adoption of Apple Pay, and there was a quote in there from some guy in the industry and he said that haven't had one single fraudulent mobile transaction. Most people I talk to say they don't want to use it because they don't trust Apple, or don't trust the banks, or whatever. But that concern is completely unfounded.

I try to use it exclusively and like the added security. Pumps down here have been notorious for thieving fools putting card skimmers on the stripe readers.

Watching this, I wasn't aware that some pumps were installing the NFC readers.
