Thought about putting the dirt wheels on the SXC for some mud slinging fun if that sounds good otherwise same plan as before. I have another friend with a 950 in Lisle that I ride with. He might want to ride as well. He is a very experienced dirt/enduro rider who loves to get out for ride.

Can you find mud to sling and still have time to get a ride in within 6 hours of the city? not being a smartass just dont see much on the map? Princeton area then South along the bluffs of the Illinois river has some nice twisty mixed with gravel and dirt roads. Also some good roads near Marseilles pg 35, even some contour. Just under Seneca there are some nice roads that weave up and down the river bluff. i havent been up there in a few years so dont know the condition of the asphalt but if you are looking for d/s then who cares.nice thing is you can beat it home on 80 when you run short on time.
The bluff roads between hennepin South to Lacon also offer some great riding just work back and forth up the bluff, but let me warn you if you start riding these roads youre not going to wanna leave youll probably even be drawn by somme unexplainable force to Tazewell and then Mason and then Fulton County

Taki- You've gotta hook up with Chain for a ride sometime. He doesn't need a GPS because he has the Illinois Gazeteer memorized. There are some amazing roads up and down the bluffs of the river.

Even if I have the SXC, I won't have the dual sport kit on it yet. So I'll be stuck on the GS (with Tourance tires). Gravel is fine, but I won't be able to do much mud. There is some good pavement around Kendall County. :dunno PM me directions to the start (your house?).

The pavement's not bad. Its a little beat up by the explosives plant from all the trucks, but down in the river valley its ok. We passed down there a few weeks ago when we took the baby camping in Pontiac.

Well Brad??? Are you up to it, or would you prefer to stay somewhat local?
I say endure the highway ride for the good roads and d/s trails over questionable local roads.
    I will await your response.

Do you know approximately, the mileage or time it would take to ride the loop from Lovers Lane back to Peru?

completely a guess but i m thinking 3.5 - 4 hours depending on pace and #of getoffs. you can allways cut it short and take 26 north to shorten the trip just cut out some of the bluff ride
    Im workin on it
