Had a great time only 71 miles from home to HH. Hey steve sorry I lefted out on you but I should have thought about where I was. Left turn to 31 north then 12 north then 43 east home safe. Man that RaXor back is tall.
GREAT! Nice to see y'all :):
Nice pics, Thanks! It's great to put faces to names.
'bout time fer a left coast lunch?
In. Pitch it in "upcoming events"
Razorback, It was great meeting you and xtreemlee. (I'll bet he clocks me for saying this but he actually seems like a nice guy. evil clown, yeah...sure)
Good lunch and it was fun doing a little riding with one of those butt-ugly GSs (ugly is in the eye of the beholder and they're starting to grow on me....I want one) and that cool black cbr in the mix. Don't be scarce, some longer rides are in order.
No sweat. Glad to know you made it home OK. I didn't know where that road you turned on went. Just figured you wanted to get lost a bit. Ya know if you had followed me another mile you would have been at US12/IL59...
I was going to take 176 to some back roads and cross the border somewhere around Wilmot (wanted to check out their "snow"). Eh, just went home.
A good time was had by all.
Looks like fun Xtreeme, maybe when the roads clear up I can join you for a weekend.
I am sorry all you guys had to look at those pictures of him(Xtreeme), muchless meet him in person. Which one of you washed his bike anyway?
Great to see photos of the HH gathering. I would have been there myself on this fine Sunday, but Saturday night was a little too fun-filled. I'm often at HH on Sundays on my F650 Dakar, and have an office two doors down from David E.B. Smith. If you're around in the coming weeks, I'll introduce myself.
Robin Crabb (downtown Chicago)
I can never remember the city my brother (older not Nedbesty) lives near. But I remember now its Wilmot right by a ski resort. Okay next time I visit my brother. I did want to get off the beaten track I remembered that you where going to take me back to 94 and I freaked out. Superslab is bad on nice sunday.
Hey Zed I am writing you an email pointing to this thread and there you are, fucking great man stick aroud this site is the "shit". You can come down anytime and we will shoot down there really cool place. On saturday we could go to the Ducati Corse shop and get hardons for the Italian stuff.
This Sunday, KK (Kopper Kitchen), snow so most of us are caging it.
If y'all are breaking from a ride to eat Texas BBQ you are OK in my book.
Great seeing each one of you. If only in print.
Is anyone planning to be at Highland House this weekend?
I'd like to be there. Two possible problems. Bike not put together after attempted autocom install. OR weather sucks.
Didn't see any other GS's at Highland House this morning. . .
Maybe if y'all duct taped some mousepads to your helmets, others would know who you were? Just a thought. Always glad to help
Yup, that was me. Sorry I missed the GS out by the RT's-I have to admit, I spent a good deal of my time there inside, lingering over breakfast. I went on a ride afterward to Kankakee with some of the same RT folk-Ron, David, and, uh, another RT'er whose name I can't remember. We'll have to say hi next weekend, or whenever.
other RT'er = Kathy. Yes, I was the only one without electrics on this ride. Yes, I was pretty freakin' cold.
"Worlds Toughest Motorcycle Riders" Yeah, sure.
There we are, plugged in, all warm and toasty whilst Robin, sans electrics and any kind of decent wind protection braves the cold drizzly afternoon right behind us with nary a complaint or protest.
Maybe there's something to that GS type of 'tude.
Enjoyed riding with you. Let's do it again.
Yeesh, Ron, I'm blushing.:):
Does anyone in the group make it to 2 wheel Tuesdays up in Milwaukee? I've been kinda considering it, when the weather warms up. It seems like they're trying to put together the same kinda thing as HH, and I think it might be kinda cool to check it out. I read a little bit about it on www.bikebitsonline.com; if anyone else in the Chicago area is interested, drop me an e-mail or post here, and we could go up together.
If I recall correctly, they started doing this last summer, and are resuming in early April
