I hate cable clutches. Until they start doing ball bearing perches and cables that always stay slick I'll be on the hunt for the hydro clutch consistency.

I’m opposite, I hate the dead feel of a hydro clutch and much prefer the modulation of a cable clutch.

90% of clutch cables are lined now and require no lube. A lil maintenance on the pivot, and done. Beats a slave cyl failing, but hey, we all know you ain’t keepin this thing more than 6 months

If I could find one for my HD I'd add it to that bike too.

There is a factory hydro clutch on touring M8 models. Not sure how involved or if conversion is possible.

    Ha ha.

The Monkey now shifts crisp like the 701!

Just took the 701 to do a quick errand and with the airbox filter vents added, handguards, those elastomers it runs fast and smooth. Smoothest yet.

Need to get a ride in but I cleaned it up anticipating to sell and don't want to get it dirty again.

A fire breather compared to the Monkey!

I got the email today too. Just have to wait out the initial rush...

Just rode the 701 back home and tried Mode 2. This thing is an animal now.

I want to race somebody with a power commander and tuning.

Isn't there an oil transfer problem with the hydro-clutch M8 touring models? I've been congratulating myself that my cable-clutch Sport Glide avoids that issue . . .

Maybe that was it. Had read somewhere that there was an issue. Those are the "sumping" motors.

I need to. I've got a DMV appointment early January to get the title. Not sure about selling it before I've paid taxes on it.

Can you combine that with your Monkey appointment?

My brothers Ultra is so equipped, I’m with @villageidiot. Dead feel is good descriptor, and it’s snatchy which probably isn’t even a word but it gets the point across. We all do what we like (or at least we should) so I’m not getting on your decision about the hydro clutch or anything, just saying I personally think the new Harley version sucks ass :-)

    I'd like to try one.

I'm not seeing an aftermarket option so it looks like I'm out anyway.

I’ve always liked being able to feel the cable clutches. Doesn’t hurt that I have monster strong hands. None of em have been over “hard” to pull the clutch. One bike had a moose racing “ez clutch” in it, some sort of leverage reducing mousetrap. Was a very soft clutch, but still had cable clutch feel.
