Ah, screw it. 4 bolts to thread lock in place.

No more fender in front of the oil cooler. Maybe the fender down low will funnel air to the low mount cooler going on too.

Still waiting on the Monkey exhaust to be finished. Will call the shop today and see what is going on.

Also assembling the new business, so to speak. Although two steeds wait impatiently in the garage, I'm probably not going to see much 2 wheel action for a while. Have to make up for all that was lost in the last year.

Good luck on the business front Brian. Sucks to be out of work opportunities.

    Thanks Dave.

This whole being out of business the last 15 months is going to be a blessing in disguise in that I'll have removed many stressors from the last go around. I'm ready to be back. Taking somebody away from being plugged into their work 24/7 is eating at me.

By the beginning of next month I'll not have an opportunity to roll out of Vegas for a bit.

Hopefully we get some good content from everybody else, yourself included, for vicarious two wheeled action.

    Thanks.

Not really new since it is the same line for work as I've done the past decade. Just shaking up the format.

Since I've been more than excited as things leap towards reopening, I can't sleep.

Always have had an issue or gift of being able to basically save up energy when not doing enough to exhaust myself. Endurance motorcycle riding and working long hours, endurance sports, you name it. Always came naturally.

So here I sit putting together my second oil cooler for the dual setup.

Primed up and ready to bolt on. Just need to do a valve adjustment and install the oil fittings to the cylinder and tighten it down.

Yesterday was 114°f so this thing isn't going on soon enough!

Exhaust is supposed to be completed tomorrow.

take care of the family's needs first before feeding our wants...bananas wouldn't work. besides....too hot in the desert!

my red monkey is just fun to ride and getting my attention a lot. i doubt if i will ever get a speeding ticket since no one believes it could exceed the city's speed limits.

    :rofl

I think if mine were brought to CA I'd get a speeding and sound violation.

Just got the exhaust and second oil cooler mounted and holy moly is this thing LOUD!!!

Maybe take a cruise in the morning to see how it runs.

It sounds like a 250 to 450 MX bike now.

Going to look into a high performance bike stock take off for a muffler. I think a few HP loss will be worth the cutting of decibels.

Looks nice, but sorry about the noise. Can the packing be adjusted?

I'd keep an eye on debris flying into the lower cooler. I know you plan to keep this on pavement now, but still.

The oil coolers have mesh guards. Not indestructible but better than nothing.

Packing, just put fresh packing in.

The shop said he packed it very tight which isn't good for sound absorption. Plus the core was wrapped with stainless steel mesh to keep packing from blowing out of the holes we cut the inserts out of.

I'm thinking take off muffler from something like an R1 that has lightweight duals and flows 180 to 200 hp. Can probably get decent flow and quiet it down. Just needs to fit the bill visually.

I wore a different helmet but the same Shure mic with a little dead cat attached. It's attached to the chin strap below the jaw. No breathing sounds!

214 seems pretty good. What oil temp does a stock Monkey usually see?

..and that was just seeing what third gear would pull at redline!

Also found out that my ring gaps are too big so I'm missing more power in this setup. It is fast enough for me not to tear into it for a bit but the next time I do it will get a piston and rings.

Can't go too crazy with high speed running. Have to make sure the oil cooler lines are not leaking.

    Never checked!

Didn't start watching temps until the big bore made it necessary.

Also, the stock sensor isn't accurately pulling temp readings. The little bit of washing over in the cam chain tunnel leaves much to be desired.

Maybe later on I'll get the TFT dash and another oil temp sensor.
