That's just insane! That bike looks badass for sure, like something out of a batman movie. But how can you ride it all those miles? The ergos look like a torture device, like a V-Rod. I bet NO OTHER is doing that kinda miles on it. Brian you are one bad mofo! HD should pay you big$$$ for that Rt66 picture!

I keep thinking, if I were to get a touring bike, I'd be able to knock out a 1,500 mile day with western highway speed limits and route choice. Would be boring though.

Also, with your choice of steeds and casual pace with picture taking, are the other motorists barreling down on you all of the time?

Every time I get to CA it is like a switch goes off because everyone is going at an elevated pace.

Yesterday I was pacing a dump truck and the dude was railing that thing on the mountain roads.

Just wait until the weather warms up!

I have a feeling I'll be stuck working a lot this season but I'll also be checking out some new places with some big mileage days.

    What are you riding now?

Completely forgot that on my way into town with the moon glowing and relatively clear skies there was a green meteor that came into the atmosphere that exploded orangish red and disappeared.

The open skies have nice gifts.

I'm very familiar with your route and that, my friend, was one hell of a ride.

The Montezuma Grade by Borrego is waaaay more fun going up than it is going down!

Roy's at Amboy didn't have gas? Or were they closed for the day? Did they reopen the Dairy Queen in Ludlow?

Did you jump on the 40 or take Kelbaker to the 15?

    I've got questions!

Have not had the pleasure. I'm always looping my way back to Vegas when I'm attacking that road. The Harley is fun because it has great engine braking. Don't have the smoke the brakes.

Amazing 'day' ride Brian! I would so trade my FXWG for a FXDR if I had a windfall of cash.

With how tall you are you'd probably fit great on the bike!

If you are coming back to Vegas you can take it for a spin. I'll need to get another bike to be able to keep up because the Super Cub will not do well as a chase vehicle.

I think you are partly to blame for my looking into Harley to begin with. That bike is sweet.

HDs are rude, crude and generally socially unacceptable. :D That said they hammer down the road like no other flawlessly. FWIW, I had 3 Road Kings and that's another sleeper. I don't know how the MoCo does it but that bike handles amazingly well. I loved the Road King Classics. The white walls and leather bags just set it off.

Last intrusion on your great thread here. Here's a an old pic of my first Road King with hard bags. The RK Classic wasn't available yet, one of the greatest bikes I ever owned and put 100k on this one. I know you have an itch to scratch on RKs but got god's sake dont get rid of the FXDR, your bike is the pinnacle of a performing HD. Carry on and sorry for the derail Brian.

Nothing says Harley like the bike in your picture!

I love the FXDR. No intention on getting rid of it. Have to see how long the M8 will last. Just sitting there it looks phenomenal.

Been having lousy weather with high speed winds and flash flooding. Weather I am not keen to ride in.

Today would have been a great day for a run.

I've got 500 miles to go before my bike needs a service. The next ride won't be the 1,000 miler.

Also, work has slowed way down so I'm not working the crew and instead doing the work myself to survive.

Will have that to contend with until the coronavirus stuff subsides.
