I haven't had luggage on a bike in 9 years. Not sure I'm ready to start now.

just had to mention a great ride we had out of Henderson , awhile back. Called Keyhole Canyon.
It has some great Rock art. Off a powerline road near Nelson. Maybe you have done it.
That's a cool Husky you have, the good suspension must be nice. MY pig has an air shock, starts out OK, until you ride and bounce along, then the air expands and the back is rigid!

Tried climbing into the hole on the Northside on the wall until the beehive tried to attack.
There is so much to see out here.
Pretty soon before it warms back up I'm going to ride to a mine just out side of Pahrump. You can take dirt from Las Vegas all the way there. Refuel over in Shoshone, CA and ride back street or dirt.
Been looking at the mine for years from the road.

I am a snowbird and picked Sam's town for a base. Was heading for Arizona for a month in Mesa, than to California . Wasn't able to stay long in NV. but I know there is lots to explore there. Looking forward to your future rides and pictures. Steve
Got the Wings in and on. Also the Carbon fiber heat shield. This is the first time where I don't really care to have an exhaust on a bike. The aftermarket is louder with the larger baffle so I put the smaller one in and it sounds OK.
Almost thinking I should have sprung for the Akra or just left it stock.
Oh well. It's on. Will try to sneak out tonight.
One of the main reasons for an aftermarket pipe was to stop the melting of the turn signal. It aims down a little more than stock.
I think hell has frozen over. Just got done riding the bike with the new muffler and I don't like it. Going to switch back to stock and possibly consider Akrapovic down the road.
To any reader that has not known me for a long time, I don't think I've ever had a vehicle that I have not added an aftermarket louder exhaust to.
This sh!hole shop out of SLC UT that I got my Harley exhaust from is apparently a nightmare to deal with(of course I see the reviews after the purchase). It is titanium and has scratches. Anybody know about polishing ti? Will light scratches come out?
I'm going to see if I can get a manager on the line to see if they will resolve it. If not they are getting the blast of a lifetime. There are some websites that can really get dirty pulling the highest Google search results for businesses. They've obviously done shady dealings like this before.

I'm not after noise though. The bike has plenty of power so I'm not really looking for more there although as is typical of the modern bike, outside of Harley, you can feel the mid-range emissions dip in the tuning.
Damn. Now I've got to check it out!
I don’t like noise either. All it does is piss people off. Which isn’t good for the moto community as a whole.
Stock can back on. Just waiting on the rest of the goodies. May get a quick adventure ride in in the morning. Maybe not. Need some skid plate bad before any damage gets done.

I did keep my Monkey stock for the same reason you are looking to keep your 701 quiet. Stealthy riding. My old Grom was LOUD. It had full exhaust, intake, cam and tuner. It was really obnoxious. I feel the Monkey is stealthy quiet so I can practice wheelies in the neighborhood and I don't feel like a jerk. Plus it just has that Honda generator quietness that it feels like a feature I don't want to lose. Part of the fun is that quiet push of torque.
I'm actually considering doing just what Colby says. These f-sticks want to hide a and not deal with their screw up? I'll make them deal.
The bike has been down for a week now of no riding because I started pulling the exhaust for the swap. Still sitting there.
Call corporate and ask them how to handle this. They sold you an open box $1k muffler and knew it.
BTW I just checked my 701SM Wings exhaust. I left the DB killer in! Yup they are loud even with the DB killer in.
If I really get the itch I'll try the Akrapovic. Half the weight of stock and supposed to keep a quiet tone. Plus I think there is a removable catalytic converter which will definitely be quieter than anything without one.
Like you said, the quiet rush of torque is awesome.
