Agreed about better tools for the job but I'd still be up for the mini style adventure.

To be fair, anything sub 250 is a “mini style adventure”

not all people are like us Brian. I’ve had underwear longer than I’ve had the last 5 motorcycles.

just trying to help him pick a bike that might stick around longer than 6 weeks.

@lookatdirt you could always grab a TU250X with luggage, higher bar, knobby tires.

I bet houses by the power plant are going cheap and with the amount of crap in the air you could recharge an electric bike and not even plug it in:rofl

The air is really clean over there. Everything is.

Most car engines are below 1 liter and most motorcycles are less than 250cc.

Haven't been by the Fukushima plant and don't intend to!

I find the Japanese car culture in movies like Fast and Furious to be so over rated. You hardly ever see really high performance or large cars there.

Even if you had something of the sort you can't use it anywhere other than parking lot flexing or that one road called the "ring" near Tokyo late at night when there isn't much traffic.

I’ve had plenty of “real” motorcycles! From your list, I had a CRF250x and loved it. I’ve had KTMs, Yamahas and Suzuki’s. Mostly off-road, a few street.
I just sold a pretty squared away plated XR400. I also just sold my Street Glide.

I’m down to my 1972 CT90 and, while it’s fun to play around with, it’s 50 years old!

I just want to take a break to smell the roses and putt down the road. I’ll have a larger bike again someday.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I guess I’ll just wait until the new CTs come out. Unless I trip over a good deal on something else, I’m 5’ 10” and not too too fat. Lol. I’ve dreamed for years of a long small bike tour. The CT is probably the ticket.

With that info (didn’t know) there’s no bad bike. No expectations no let downs.

If people can't get their sh...stuff together from top to bottom in this country that is where we'll head. A safety net if you will and I'll start an export biz over there.
