Some of you may have read the fantastic ride reports of Beemer Boy's China adventure. If you find his interesting, you may want to read on as I share a bit of my China touring experiences from a Hong Kong Chinese point of view. I can't write as good as BB so I let my photos do the talking:evil

Rider: 38 years of riding experience and have toured many countries East and West. Currently own Honda XL1000V, Suzuki DRZ400SM, Yamaha XV750 & Jialing JH600 (the one on this tour):deal

Did my test ride on the JH600 in May 2007 and ordered the bike from factory in June. Oct. took delivery and made some modifications to the bike to suit my style of touring in China.:clap

This is what it looks like hot from the production line.:huh

Even BB invited his brother Mark to be his travelling companion, so I'd like to share my joy with my other 3 biker friends. One is a local, 2 are from Guangxi Provience. We all meet up in Mianyang City where I picked up my bike as the starting point. It is manditory to have a group photo taken before our start:gerg Another 2 guys are 2 brothers that own the shop. They have tried their best to help me get the bike set up (with a little help from myself too)

20km outside Mianyang, one of the bike's rear brake caliper came off. All screws and brake pads gone. The mechanic took it off to remove the rear wheel for service and forgot to put the caliper back on properly.:ddog The story taught us, never talked away from your bike being serviced in China.

2 of us went ahead to the next stop to arrange accomodation and food for the night and 2 stayed behind to wait for the mechanic to come for the rescue.

What the ???????? First, you must have pulled some connections with the triads to get what appears to be one of the military bikes, then you outfit it with blue and red police lights, and some throw in some sirens.:eek1 :eek1 I can see the rural scenes already. You blasting through small villages with lights flashing and sirens blaring away, with villagers scattering in fear thinking a powerful VIP has descended upon them !!! :rofl :rofl
Was starting to miss China when I saw the picture of the bike you put up on my thread. Then I looked more closely and saw the snow in the background mountains
did not look very far above you....ride safe my friend, and see you in December.

    Hi BB,

I was trying to put this thread up quitely and surprise you with a note. Well, that didn't work:huh Yes, the bike is armed to the teeth. Yes, I did pull some threads but not with the triads:freaky No I don't play VIP in small villages. In fact I ride throught them at 40-60km/h with a big smile on my face. Just like you did....:evil I did use my secret weapons on big bad trucks, buses and tricycles trying to run me off the road while blowing clouds of black diesel exhaust:wink: And you know what? It works every time:rofl

    See you in Dec.:norton
