FHL Beijing www.fhlmotor.com still has a Suzuki shop with the perfect China road bikes for sale on display nearby the newly opened Kawasaki dealership.
Unfortunatly no business cards or info was available from the highly alerted "food-coma-sleeping" security guard.

Ain't color blind and how exiting riding what sounds like a poorly-running, two-wheeled, lawn tractor on one of the best pieces of motorcycle road in the country?
If I wanted to feature as an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean, or Mad Max, or liked wearing leather vests like the Village People, I would consider a Harley.

Love the Blue GSA but what price does that bad boy run here in China? They were around RMB300,000 (US$49,000) last time I checked. My JH600 Jialing at RMB50,000 will have to do here in China until prices come closer to what I paid in the USA for my 2008GSA.

Was over at BMW Motorrad Center Shanghai the other day and to be honest, did not enquire about price as I am not looking for a new bike.
With them newly enforced CCC regulations in place since 1st.March 2014, quite a few bike brands are in a limbo here concerning bike registrations / licensing for some bike models...

CCC sticker on the the GS12ADV and BMW has the CCC issue all sported....
China Compulsory Certificate mark, commonly known as CCC mark, is a compulsory safety mark for many products imported, sold or used in the Chinese market.
It became implemented on May 1, 2002 and fully effective on August 1, 2003.

    Hello Sir TBR,

Very nice pics, love it. I hope you dont mind if I post a question/concern here.

I am in the planning stage of getting a Zongshe RX 3, but based on the reviews of the bike from the actual owners it known to have a throtlle position sensor issues as well as the MAP. If you happen to bump into a Zongshen manufacturer, would be it possible that you mention this to them?

Thank you and apologize for hi-jacking your thread.

Jialing / CJ Shanghai Shop (Xiao Fan = Fan Peisheng / phone: 13042119833 / 18017640258 ) is located in the vehicle repair centre at roughly 665-666 Hangzhong Road (street alley near Huqingping Highway / G318 National Road).
The bike shop is hard to find the first time to be honest as in a dead end alleyway and hidden in a gated compound.

Wow. Thanks TBR. You are making a historical record of "change."

It is truly mind-blowing how much the retail motorcycle industry has changed in the past decade within China, and especially within the last 3 or 4 years.

As recent as 2008, one's options for motorcycle shops in Beijing was little more than hole-in-the-wall mom & pop shops selling Chinese bikes under 250cc, or the dirty crooks' shops selling CJ750 pieces of sh1t, all polished up.

Now if only the laws surrounding motorcycles would be updated into the 21st century. The "World Top" dealer at Goldenport is one example of the disconnect between the enterprises and the law ... every single bike at the dealer is illegal and cannot be plated. I am always amazed at how these shops can exist when their products are all illegal. And the "World Top" dealer is in very expensive retail space, and with massive tenant improvements. Ah well, TIC. I've heard that the biggest selling individual item at the Beijing HD dealer (aside from t-shirts) is the trailer (a Made In China knockoff of the Kendon). Maybe people just haul their illegal gems from one bar to another?

I'll never figure this place out. :rofl

Big drama last Saturday as we parked a Ducati MTS and BMW GS12 in front of the new Honda Dreamwing dealership out in Shunyi, well - the shop sales manager and two security guard retards told us loudly and rude motorcycles not welcome and we have to park on the street out front as they have the grand opening during the weekend.
Bike dealership grand opening and bikers and bikes not welcome..... don't get me started please.
TIC = This Is China at its best....

ps: have to dig through some very old pics from the late 90's, the time the first Beijing HD custom shops like Chrome Horse, etc. opened up...

You know the Nicolas Cage movie HD bike (Ghost Rider) cost them 2.6 mil. RMB (approx. US$ 422785) to get to Capital City, does it actually run or is the bike just a movie prop for bragging rights?
As far as I know, that ugly as hell Ghost Rider bike is Mainland China's most expensive bike or whatever you like to call it.... http://www.hoghd.cn/viewthread.php?tid=14128&extra=page=1
