My friend in front of the 300 MW Baspa Dam. It was hard to hear ourselves here.

River Baspa originates only a few kms away. It has subzero temperature and class 4 rapids.

The bikes and the roads we endured.

The better roads...........good leaning fun. Michelins came in handy

    Wallpaper pic. Truly amazing.

It took around Rs. 1700 including fuel, food and accomodation. Which is about US$38. For a 3 day trip to heaven, that aint bad. :)
All i can say is this is one place, i would never ever forgot. The tryst with higher himalayas has just started.
    With love, from india.

    Yes Wow too.

Where I live and ride, I never get to see mountains like that.

Thanks for another view of the planet we all live on.

Please keep posting Chanderjeet. I'm starting to get addicted.:clap

This is adventure riding. 100cc bikes and altitudes higher than anything in the Rockies.
Base Camp for Mt.Everest climbs from the North side, Tibet, is a drive up affair that drops you at 17,000 ft. Some of these posts from India the dudes are riding these tiddlers to 18,000 ft. I love this stuff.

Thanks people. glad you like it. It was honour to reach that place itself.

Water crossing to numb your feet. These stream run wild on the road and come melting straight down from the glaciers near by.

I apologize for the big sized pics. Im not finding time and patience to smaller their sizes.

The infamous Satluj river. Notorious for flash floods. Water rose upto 50 feets in one minute 2 years back due to faster glacier melting in tibet.

    Me...............posing :p

Traffic Jam at the most unimaginable roads.

The better roads...................less pain in the butt.

Heh, the pics make them look nicer than the pain.

My bike didn't pull so we had to take out the airfilter, change clutches enroute. There was blasting of the hill when that jam occured - as another time we saw a landslide. Once a bus almost made me go off the road - the tyres passed a few inches away from sheer oblivion and the butt/shoulder pains were immense.

But then, its the pain that makes the pleasure sweeter! :D

Why don't you come to India, and get your ass bake-d with us? ;-):freaky

Because if I did, I'd never leave and my son would forget who I am. :evil

But really, I will ride there in the next few years. Your ride reports and photos keep me fired up and the dream alive.

Where I live and ride, I never get to see mountains like that either, and IMHO I'm in some of the best mountains in the lower 48. Those are some fantastic shots! I can't get enough of those.
