    Greetings fellow Cantabrians.

I couldn't see any rideout threads for Christchurch so thought I'd try creating one.

SOoooo... summer is rapidly approaching and there is good riding to be had.

Anyone keen on a loop of Mt Somers sometime in the next couple of weeks?? Nothing too vigorous.

    Hi Daniel,

I'm in Rolleston so not too far from Ashburton. I'm an "enjoy the scenery kind of guy" too. Definitely keen for a ride in December. What kind of bike are you on?

Hi guys, I'm in CHCH and keen as well. Apparently, I gaining my confidence back riding off the pavement, so I going to do some light gravel type riding in the next couple of weekends. Next Saturday I'll do the "Longest day 1000km ride" but probably after that I will go up to lake Ida mt Olympus for a day trip. Anyway, I'll keep my eye on this thread...

Definitely, haven't been there for years now, also driving a 4x4 is always easier....

I was at Lake Coleridge a few weeks ago and it was pretty nice. Keen for a meet up to ride out to Lake Ida sometime?

long time watcher first time poster ... keen to hook up some time for a ride ... been spending a bit of time lately exploring the gravel roads of the Bank Peninsula ... tucked the front wheel on a paper rd 10 days ago, recovering form broken ribs & a puntured lung, should be good to go in a week or 2

Yikes... sounds rough. Get well soon. I've poked around a little on the gravel roads around the Peninsula. There's some good ones if you turnoff just before getting to little river.

Nice, I've always thought they looked like great bikes. Maybe head to the Waimac for some trails? You can just follow Weedons Ross road all the way to the river and there are a tonne of 4x4 trails and single track to play on. That's where I head for a quick bash.
