Headed east to hit part of the SOAL. Definitely worth it at least on the part I did today. I have some vids I’ll post soon.

I heard some engines while I was there and hoped to run into someone. I was around Tobe Lewis late afternoon/early evening, and ran it CW. Next time I head that way I will post here. I plan to trailer next time to make the most of daylight and avoid night time deer.

Five intrepid travelers set out for Alabama, no banjo required.

Amazing 5 level museum, vintage racing, and a seemingly endless swap meet area. And bikes, lots of bikes.

To say only that a good time was had by all would be a gross understatement.

Thanks to John W. for some amazing meals! And he got to say “hey hey, I’m the monkey…”

I just spent a couple days in TN/KY with exploring some areas I hadn't done before looking for a good ADV loop. Had my dad and two youngest with me and rode some of it two-up with my daughter. I have hours of video to go through, hope to post it soon.

I did decide against tempting fate on this wet clay on stock tires and alone. Supposedly this goes through back to that firetruck, I need a good dirt rider to go with me so we can check it out.

A few pics from our 2wk ride thru Colorado middle of Sept. John, Shannon, Jim, and I did the COBDR south from Rawlins, Wy. 4 nights in Silverton for the passes, two nights in Almont for American Flag Mtn, then used some of the SAR and HOTW back to Rawlins. All the pics are here: https://dynobob.smugmug.com/Colorado-Sept-2021/n-hvfdH5

And did a quick camping trip to Zilpo Campground at Cave Run Lake/Red River Gorge this weekend. Still a little ahead of the leaf color.

The aspen forests were beautiful Steve! We were just ahead of peak color but can't control that... A lady in Gunnison told us we should drive through the aspen forest on Kebler Pass (near Crested Butte). Turns out it is on the Shadow of the Rockies track we're following. Apparently these forest are one root system with millions of shoots coming up from it. Kebler Pass may be the largest aspen grove and living organism (by weight) on the planet (Utah claims the same). It took about an hour to drive through the grove.

I trailer all the time. I leave in the dark and arrive just after sun up. Get suited up in the parking lot. Not having the ride to and from makes it more enjoyable for anyway. I never have been much of a street rider.
