Having trouble starting.bike had been in storage for a while by PO (just purchased it). Put it on the trickle charger for a day and still having these symptoms. Will start when the trickle charger/jump pack is on. Without..
Turn the key, everything comes on. Hit the button, only a click and nothing turns over. All the lights, when I turn them in, are still very bright, including the aftermarket auxiliary lights.
Is this a starter thing or just a bad battery?

Since it starts OK with jump-pack my guess ... would be bad (or not fully charged) battery.

If you have a voltmeter hook that to system voltage and see how low the voltage drops when you hit the starter button...
If it goes down to less that 10V then it's likely either bad or not fully charged battery.

    lots more details here: https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/how-to-test-a-motorcycle-battery

but if the battery is more than a couple years old, and was left to fully discharge with no float charger on it ... I vote with @SnoDrtRider

Battery. A bad cell may read voltage fine. But craps out when load ( starter ) is applied.
