CNN ranks taking a motorcycle taxi in Bangkok as the 17th most terrifying activity in the world, just behind going over a 57-meter waterfall in a kayak and just ahead of running a six-day, 254 km ultra-marathon in 50°C heat in Morocco.

    I think they're exaggerating.

No they are not! Try taking 2 - one for your partner and one for yourself, to the same destination at 6 p.m. Let them race each other through Bangkok traffic and you will consider 17th far too low a rating!

555 sorry I can't agree Paul ... I've been taking them daily for long enough that I can almost fall asleep.

I will say the ones across from Samitivej hospital on Sukhumvit 49 drive like banshees and some of them have scared the willies out of me.

Been there, done that...many times.. NOTHING was as scary as taking a taxi in China in the 90's.. Red lights were just suggestions.
