I think MP is living in the Maritimes now.
There are a couple of clips of Phil Funnell on youtube talking about his rides. Have you checked them out?

actually I have.. Phil was my original inspiration for doing this.. Even though he had not done the Victoria to Cape Spear in winter, he had done winter rides long before anyone thought it was cool.
And in times when technology was not even close to what it is nowadays.
Phil is the original Iceman as far as I am concerned and i can only wish to have half the strength he had when I will be that age..
Actually in my two trips i often wondered as I rode amidst some of the most breath taking winter scenery I have ever seen how he felt as he rode by it. what he thought, and if he stopped where I did.. He was along for the ride in more ways than people think. Him and my friend Dave Barr. I count myself blessed to have been able to do what those men have done..

Just read this whole thread over the course of 3 nights.. What a journey! Paul you truly are crazy! Thank you for the great read along the way. You Canadians sure are nice for helping Paul along the way!
